St Moriz 'Dark' Instant Self Tanning Mousse Review

I have read rave reviews about St Moriz tan but I was happy enough carrying on using my St Tropez gradual tan. I was lucky enough to win a St Moriz set from their Twitter page just before Christmas, but I have left it for this long to try it out! I now regret not trying it out straight away as it's so brilliant! I'll start off by admitting that I was sceptical of whether the tan would be any good as it's so cheap - I can now admit I was completely wrong! Even though I won this bottle, I've already bought my next bottle which was just £3.00 for 200ml at Wilkinsons! £3.00 for a false tan that actually works?! The Instant Self Tanning Mousse retails at around £4.99, but I think you could get it even cheaper in bargain stores such as Home Bargains. However, you can't argue with paying £4.99 for a natural looking tan!

Directions: To exfoliate your skin, moisturize the dry area of the skin ( knees, elbows, hands, ankles, feet and hairline). Apply the mousse by rubbing gently and evenly onto the skin, allowing the mousse to absorb. Wash hands after use or wear gloves. For best results apply in the morning and allow at least 4 to 6 hours for the tan to develop before showering. For a mid tan re-apply in 5 to 7 days, for a dark tan, re-apply in 3 to 5 days.

As I mentioned above, I was used to using St Tropez's Gradual Tan in medium/dark so I hadn't really felt the need to try out a new false tan. After finding my St Moriz bottle hidden at the back of my never ending drawer of toiletries, I decided to try it out straight away. My favourite part of applying false tan is the excuse to exfoliate and moisturize! It's so important to exfoliate before applying false tan - you can read more on my post about exfoliating and the products I love to use. I'm currently exfoliating with the gorgeous scented Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush and then moisturising with Soap and Glory's Smoothie Star Body Milk. After the pampering is done, it's time to start tanning. As I was using the 'dark' tan I knew I would probably end up with completely orange palms so I bought myself a tanning mitt. The tanning formula is a very dark mousse formula which makes applying and blending the tan so easy. The tan doesn't have that typical 'false tan' smell (You know the one!) and I'll be honest and say I don't tend to notice a scent when I use the product. As the tan is instant it makes it so much easier to apply whilst looking in the mirror to make sure you get all your skin covered and don't end up with streaks and patches! The photo I have showed below is how the tan instantly develops and you can see the change in the colour of my skin. I am so impressed with the tan as it doesn't give me any unwanted streaks and gives such an even and natural colour. After showering later on as per the directions, the tan really does result in a natural look with no awkward 'Someone's been on the fake tan' moments. This will definitely be my brand new go to tan from now on and I can't believe I have only just discovered it!

Before and After: Instant Application.

St Moriz is available to buy at supermarkets and cheaper stores such as Home Bargains. The product is also stocked online by FeelUnique, Fragrance Direct and Semi Chem. You can also try the instant mousse in medium and I fancy trying out St Moriz' Instant Self Tanning mist too!

Have you tried any of the St Moriz range? x
