Bare Minerals Get Started Kit Review.

I was recently lucky enough to review Bare Minerals 'Get Started Kit' thanks to the team at House of Fraser. I had actually been considering buying this myself as I'm a sucker for any beauty product as I'm sure you're aware! Bare Minerals are an interesting brand to me as all their makeup is designed to make your skin not only look good but improve its condition too thanks to the power of the minerals contained. As you can see I received the 'Get Started Kit', of which I opted for the 'light' shade. The set is available in 'light', 'tan' or 'dark'. The 'Get Started' kit is aimed at anyone who wants to branch into the world of Bare Minerals and create a flawless complexion. A full coverage and flawless look is something that I aim for with my makeup every day, due to my freckles and dark circles, I'm not one of these people who can get away with the natural look without looking rather tired! The kit contains a total of seven products including a primer, original foundation, warmth all over face colour, finishing powder, full flawless face brush, flawless application brush and a maximum coverage concealer brush. Inside the kit you will also find an instructions leaflet to follow.

The first step is to begin with the 'Prime Time' foundation primer which is a sample size. I have used this primer a good few times now and it honestly really does make a difference to my foundation. It's a super silky formula which blends incredibly easily and absorbs into the skin instantly. You can say goodbye to waiting around a few minutes for your primer to dry! As with most foundation primers, it's main aim is to improve the look of your foundation, smoothing your natural skin and generally improving the longevity of your foundation. I think this tops other primers that I have used and I'm definitely prepared to buy myself a full sized version.

Next up, I used the full flawless face brush to apply the second step of the kit. This is the original SPF 15 foundation which is a mineral powder. This is the big test of the kit for me as I had never used a mineral foundation before and was eager to see the results. As I mentioned I have freckles which I often tend to cover up with makeup, so how did the Bare Minerals foundation compare? Well, it didn't quite give me 100% of the coverage that I was looking for, but I was still impressed. It literally felt like I was wearing no makeup at all, even though I could see the results. It gives a healthy glow, is far from cakey, doesn't settle into fine lines and is all over a winner. It's perfect for if you want medium to full coverage without having to 'cake it on' as this foundation is amazingly smooth.

The second and third steps are to then apply the warm all over face colour, followed by the mineral veil finishing powder. The all over face colour is pretty much self explanatory! You simply apply all over the face using either the full flawless or face brush. I personally liked to use the warmth all over face colour as a hint of blush and bronze to my cheek bones. Again this is a mineral powder and was a dream to apply and blend. The mineral veil finishing powder is an illuminating powder which gives off such a healthy and radiant glow, I absolutely love this. It's just that little bit extra satisfying to finish off the application with this light reflecting finishing powder.

All in all, I really can't recommend this 'Get Started' kit to you enough. I've been left really impressed and I will be recommending it to friends and family. The kit itself costs £49.00, which may seem pretty pricey to start but it's definitely worth it.

Have you tried any Bare Minerals products before?
