2016 Diaries - My Top Picks.

Yay, I wrote a blog post! I have no idea why my love for blogging keeps disappearing but today I've had some inspiration to write a post, so I got started as soon as I could before it runs off again - cross your fingers for me that it stays this time! Last year, I wrote a post to show lots of gorgeous diaries that I had found for the upcoming year, so I decided to do the same again as I love stationery. I'd quite happily own all of these diaries - I'm terrible for hoarding stationery. I've picked out my favourite diaries to keep you organised for 2016 and there's lots to choose from. My favourites are the stunning Disney schedules which actually come from Japan but I can assure you they're great quality but will just take a little while longer to get to you.  I also love the Roald Dahl diary, I love the classic illustrations. I hope you like my little hidden Christmas messages in the picture too.

Will you be buying a diary for 2016? x

My George Christmas Party Outfit

When it comes to fashion, I'm always about the bargains. I'm always on the hunt for the latest sales, reductions and love keeping an eye on the 'new in' section of my favourite clothes websites. George has always been on my favourite stores as not only can you find great quality clothes and nightwear (I've bought some amazing Coca Cola ones for Christmas!) but everything is really affordable too. I also love their homeware and have just kitted out my bedroom in their vintage deer bedding with a gorgeous deer cushion. So, when I got the opportunity to collaborate with George to write a piece about Christmas parties and my #GeorgePartyTips, I wasn't going to turn it down. I was lucky enough to be able to choose an outfit ready for my Christmas do which is coming up very soon.

I decided to create a theme for myself of 'black and glitter'. Black is such a flattering colour and I love wearing it, but I also love my sparkles too so I thought I'd create the perfect balance. I opted for a black lace insert dress which was a steal at just £12. I love how it's stylish but also really comfortable too thanks to its skater shape - you can easily dress it up for your party night out or dress it down for a more casual lunch. With it being a black dress, I thought I'd team it up with some sparkles. Seeing as it's December now and there's a high chance of my legs being freezing cold if exposed, I chose these lovely sparkle tights not only to keep me warm but to give a subtle shimmer to the outfit. Us girls need our mobile phones, purse and lipsticks on us when we head out so I chose a stunnig cross body glitter box bag. It's just the right size to pop the essentials in and the glitter catches the light perfectly. Lastly, no outfit is complete without the shoes so continuing with my glitter theme, I opted for a cute pair of black glitter court shoes. Now that the outfit's all ready to go, here are my tips for surviving the work Christmas party!

*Choose a comfy outfit. Ok, I know those new heels look stunning, but can you really walk in them? Will you be hobbling around barefoot after just an hour of dancing?

*Hide away if you need to! I can sometimes feel a bit anxious when surrounded by lots of people, so if things get a bit too loud for you, take a second to pop outside for some fresh air before heading back in.

*Go glam with your makeup. It's Christmas so it's the perfect time to feel glamorous in your new outfit so don't forget to go to town with your makeup and nails too to make you feel extra good about yourself.

*If it's a works do - try not to go too wild on the alcohol! Let your hair down by all means but it might be best not to be throwing up infront of your boss - unless they're party animals too and are too busy trying to walk straight to be noticing what you're up to!

Enjoy! PS - I'm hoping to get more blog posts up soon! x

Wishing for Winter Coats

This time of year is always my favourite. Everyone's getting excited for Halloween and Christmas and most importantly for me the colder weather is on its way. I know a lot of people will be gutted that the sun may soon be disappearing as the mornings get darker but the colder weather has always been something I prefer. I much prefer to wrap up warm in a pretty coat, scarf and boots over a little summer outfit. So, with that in mind I thought I'd put together a few coats that had caught my eye and I soon spotted a theme of faux fur coats. There's lots to choose from and I love them because they look so cosy but of course it's only faux fur and they're also subtle and not too in your face like some faux fur coats can be. I think my favourite has to be the bottom right and I'm very much considering buying it for this years winter coat! Also, hope you like my little specks of snow over the coats - I think it looks lovely and wintery!

A Very Special Arrival.

Now, I know I've been quiet on the blogging front recently, but I'm afraid I didn't run off and have a baby, this little cutie unfortunately isn't mine. Instead, I've got the next best thing and I'm his doting auntie. I am very close to both my mum and sister, and on Friday 2nd October at 8.44pm, my sister gave it her all and my gorgeous nephew was born. I was so excited to see him and I had some lovely cuddles over the weekend with him. So far, he's been a very quiet baby except for in the night time as it seems he's not so keen on the dark yet! Fingers crossed my sister will have a quieter night soon.

His name is Jacob and I thought I would write this post as I am so proud of him and have been showing photos to everyone possible - of course, he's the background of anything I can change; my laptop, my phone, my ipad - you name it!

Welcome to the world Jacob!

Disney Princesses Anti-stress Colouring Book.

It's been a long time since I even considered writing a blog post, but once I got my hands on this gorgeous book, I knew I had to share it with you. As I'm sure you're aware if you're a reader of my blog (thank you for coming back!) I'm a lover of all things Disney. Anything that I can get my hands on that's Disney, I'll get it somehow! I have a favourite account on Instagram that I check everyday - its called 'disneyfind'. I'm sure I've spoken about the account before in a previous post, but everyday it's updated with new Disney items that are available in the UK or any general Disney updates. So, rewind a few weeks when I did a little gasp of excitement when I first spotted this Disney princess colouring book - which isn't just for kids!

As I'm sure you've noticed, the only downside to the book is the fact that it's written in french - however, the only writing that's actually in the book is the front cover, the blurb and an introduction page, so I'm not missing out on too much! The book itself is a hardcover and has lovely quality paper meaning I can use my favourite fineliner pens. Inside the book, there's 100 different pages to colour and each of them is really detailed and intricate. The book focuses on all the different princesses such as Jasmine, Cinderella, Ariel, Mulan, Rapunzel and there's also pages with patterns and settings such as dressing rooms. If you love Disney and love colouring then this book is perfect for you. If you can wait another two months before purchasing, then you can pre-order the British version - but I couldn't wait long enough! There's also a Frozen version

John Frieda Beach Blonde Cool Dip Shampoo.

Introducing my brand new favourite shampoo. Just when I think that John Frieda can't get any better - the famous Beach Blonde range has been bought back by popular demand. I love using the Sheer Blonde range so when I spotted this 'Beach Blonde Cool Dip Purifying Shampoo' - I knew I had to give it a go. I first spotted it in Superdrug and bought it straight away - I get too excited when I find a shampoo! The shampoo itself is described as a minty cool, lightweight wash to add texture and shine. An extra added bonus to this shampoo is that it foams up well (which I love) and smells gorgeous with mint and seaweed extracts - it's a perfect summer scent! So, does it actually work? Yes, it works perfectly for me! I can be fussy with shampoos as my hair can get greasy quickly, but the Cool Dip shampoo is clarifying meaning my hair is a lot fresher, cleaner and also has added volume.

The Cool Dip shampoo retails at £5.99 for a 250ml bottle, but a little does go a long way. In the Beach Blonde range, you'll also find a detangling conditioner, a kelp deep conditioning treatment as well as a sea salt spray for beachy waves - I want to try them all! PS - don't be fooled by the 'Beach Blonde' name, it's actually suitable for all hair colours. PPS - I've been naughty and used the shampoo too much before photographing!

Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit Review.

Every now and then, when I get more time to spend on my makeup, I'll do a quick contour. It's not something I bother with everyday and I definitely don't resemble Kim Kardashian when it's finished but I do find it does make a difference to my makeup. I've been using various highlighters and bronzers, so when I found out about Barry M's Contour Kit - I knew I wanted to try it out. The kit means I no longer have to rummage around for a certain highlighter and bronzer, thanks to it all being packaged together in one compact kit. I also know that this kit has done it's round on the beauty blogs already but I think it's nice sometimes to forget about what others are writing about and focus on what you've been enjoying.

Barry M's Chisel Cheeks Contour kit does exactly what it says on the tin. The packaging is travel sized and really light and it can easily be popped in your handbag for touch ups on the go, although there's no mirror inside the kit. The aim of the kit is to give you a sculpted and flawless makeup look. Inside the kit, you'll find a highlighter, medium brown bronze and a dark brown sculptor. There are handy instructions showing just where each product goes, which is great if it's all new to you.

After applying my foundation and eye makeup (I always leave this step until last for some reason!), I then start with the highlighter. It's more of a light powder, than an actual highlighter - when it comes to highlighters, I tend to think of shimmer but this definitely isn't. I apply this on my chin, just above my cheekbones and in between my eyebrows. It makes a subtle difference, but nothing too drastic. Next up it's the medium brown powder for bronzing. I apply this on my cheekbones and forehead - it's the perfect shade without being orange and blends really well. Lastly, it's the dark brown sculpting powder, which I worry is a bit too dark for my skin tone. This is to be applied under the cheekbones and down the sides of your nose. I sometimes miss this step and just use the medium brown for both the second and third step as I find my makeup will get a little muddy if I'm applying too much. Overall, the kit is perfect for anyone who already loves a contour or for anyone who wants to give it a go. It's great to have the products in one place and be able to carry it around easily too. If I was to be extra fussy, I'd have loved to seen a brush too!

Life: Changing Directions.

Stop caring and wondering about how much you matter to others...

I've decided it's time for me to take a completely new direction in life. For a while now, I haven't felt 100% myself and not as happy as I feel I deserve to be. I haven't been unhappy as such, as I am so lucky to be surrounded with people who love me and look after me when I've needed it - and of course I do the same. Yet, I still haven't felt quite right. So I've made a decision to change. As the old saying goes - you are in charge of your happiness. Whilst I can't always agree with this, sometimes I do. The biggest step I am taking is that I'm looking for a new job, something part time where I can meet new people, learn new things and feel happier. Over the next few weeks I have managed to get some temporary office work which I'm looking forward to as I'm interested to see how I settle in and whether it will be something I want to go into. Also, my blog has taken a back seat recently as I haven't felt up to concentrating on it - but my third step is to get back into the swing of blogging and start enjoying it again.

I haven't got much else to say, but one thing I'd say is that if you're unhappy with something that can be changed, please try and change it. It doesn't matter what it is, if it's something you can control and can improve your life by eliminating it or improving it - please do. It can be hard and a tough journey, but there's always better things to come!

Full Coverage Foundations.

When it comes to your makeup, if you prefer to keep your foundation light and barely there, then I don't think today's post is going to be for you! I'm writing this post as if I could rewind time and read it when I was on the hunt for my perfect foundation. I pretty much keep my makeup simple but it's important for my confidence that my foundation is right as I have a lot of freckles and my skin can get dull sometimes. I've decided to round together four different foundations that are completely full coverage to see if you can find one which is perfect for you too. With all the foundations, I use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

This foundation is full coverage heaven. This is what I currently use everyday, mixed with 17 which I'll talk about below. Beautifully Matte pretty much describes itself - it gives a shine free, matte and full coverage flawless look. It blends pretty easily, but if you have dry skin you'll definitely need to be using a primer and moisturiser. As with all No7 foundations, the hassle of finding the right shade for you is pretty much non existent as you can get colour matched with their handy devices before buying. So, not only is it full coverage, easy to match your skin tone and lasts really well, it's also affordable at £13.50.

Now, I don't think this needs much introduction. There's no doubt you've heard about it already as it's an award winning foundation - but what's all the fuss about? Well, the only problem I've ever had with Double Wear is to find the right shade for my skin - and I still haven't quite found it yet. However, I can see exactly why it's loved by so many of us. It literally covers everything, blends really easily and stays put for as long as you want it. If you're getting ready at 7am, your makeup is still going to look pretty good but 7pm - who doesn't want that?! This is more expensive at £29.50, but if you can find the right shade for you, it's worth every penny.

Now, me and my skin didn't get on with this one at all. However, I know that skin types are very different and it is a good coverage foundation so I still want to recommend it to anyone looking for full coverage. It blends very easily, but for me I found that the foundation almost changed colour on my skin after a few minutes. The coverage is great though, with my favourite matte finish.

This is one of my all time favourites - I can't recommend this enough. It retails at the bargain price of £6.49, it literally masks any flaws and lasts really well too. I find that the shades are perfect for my skin tone, but this is because they are quite a lot of pale shades - there's not an awful lot of choice for darker skin. It lasts really well, occasionally needing a quick top up through out the day. It is quite a thick formula so I definitely recommend using a brush to apply. Stay Time is a hidden gem that is amazing for any full coverage lover.

Millie Marotta's Animal Kingdom Colouring Book.

I've always loved colouring. No matter how old I am, I think I'll always enjoy colouring. Over the past few years, I've coloured in mosaic patterns but I never really found anything that was intricate enough for me to really focus on and get lost in - until now. Millie Marotta is an amazing illustrator who turned her art into a colouring book for adults. 'Animal Kingdom' is her first colouring book and is soon releasing 'Tropical Kingdom'. Animal Kingdom is a Sunday Times bestseller and it seems that colouring in for grown ups has well and truly kicked off. Inside the book, you'll find so many different illustrations to choose from such as birds, whales, giraffes and so much more.

Each page has such intricate detail, meaning I can get lost and focus on the image for a few hours and it's the perfect relaxation. I've never liked using colouring pencils, I've always enjoyed using pens more, so I did a little research and found the best pens to use with the paper. I'm using the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner pens which I picked up in WHSmith. The fineliner pens are 0.3mm, meaning they are perfect for colouring in tight spaces and also the pens aren't thick enough to seep through the opposite page. The book retails at £9.95, which I feel is really affordable as there are hours of relaxation to be had. There's also lots of other colouring books to choose from, which I'm going to focus on in a new post!

Date Night In With Jacamo

If you ask me, give me a night in over a night out any day of the week! So, recently I teamed up with Jacamo for their 'Date Night In' campaign in which they very kindly sent me a few goodies to enjoy on a relaxing night in. The campaign by Jacamo is all about helping men get off on the right foot! Both me and my boyfriend work long hours so I always enjoy it when we get an evening in to ourselves. So, what was inside the kit? Well I was definitely spoilt as I got to enjoy some lovely 'I love ...' bubble bath, as well as a box of Thornton's chocolates and two mini bottles of champers and we had a film to pop on to relax and watch. There was even a cute little book filled with quotes and chat up lines, which gave me a giggle to flick through! To find out more about the campaign, you can read the Jacamo blog!

Book Review: The Lie by C L Taylor.

I've always been a massive reader and lately the amount of books I've read seems to be getting lesser and lesser. So, when one of my favourite authors pops up again with a new book, that's when I get straight back into reading again. I also thought it would be a good idea to start featuring books on my blog now and again as I enjoy reading others book reviews. I first read Cally Taylor's first book, 'The Accident' on the plane to Florida last year (so it brings me good memories!) - I had only meant to read a little bit to pass the time but managed to finish it all in one go! So when 'The Lie' was released I popped straight out and bought it the morning it was released.

The Lie follows Jane, who is in fact not Jane at all. The story flashes back to five years earlier, on a girls holiday which soon turned nasty, leaving Jane to take up her new identity. The story focuses a lot on toxic friendships and how quickly girls can turn on each other but it's also a lot darker than that too. Without giving too much away, the girls find themselves trapped in a cult in Naples whilst on their travels. Although it's a creepy and dark tale, it's not a spooky one so don't worry if you think you'd be scared! Jane is a likeable character and I think you'll find yourself feeling supportive towards her. As we flash back to the holiday, we also see Jane being threatened from someone who knows the truth about her - but what has she done? Why is she hiding her true identity? Well, I'll have to leave that to you to find out! It's a brilliant book and really had me gripped. I'm already looking forward to C L Taylor's next book!

In my eyes, I think tan is the new black. Well, it is for me anyway! I've got a trusty tan handbag tote which I bought from New Look a while back and I'll be sticking with it for a while. Since then I've noticed a lot more tan products and accessories coming into stores for me to lust over. So, for today's wishlist - the first one I've made in weeks! - I decided to make it tan themed and picked out some pretty clothes and accessories.

Soap & Glory's Sugar Crush Body Spray.

I've been waiting for this day for a long time - the day that Soap and Glory finally released a fragrance of Sugar Crush - yay! It sounds so daft but it literally made my day when I saw that I could finally smell of Sugar Crush all day long as it's my favourite scent. I've written about my love of Sugar Crush many times before, so I won't go into too much detail but just in case you haven't heard of the Sugar Crush, I'll explain the scent quickly. Sugar Crush is based on zesty limes and gives me the perfect pick me up through out my day. Being a body spray, it's not going to be as strong as a perfume of course, but the scent is so unique that I only need a couple of spritzes through out the day.

There are actually two new products to choose from, including a £4 body spray which I picked up as well as a Fragrance Mist. Also, I've just remembered that S&G have even thrown a Sugar Crush Body Lotion in the mix - I am literally in heaven. There are also four other body sprays to choose from including 'Orangeasm', 'Mist You Madly', 'Original Pink' and 'Fruitigo' all retailing at just £4.00 each. As with all S&G products, they're exclusive to Boots.

Are you a fan of Sugar Crush? x

L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks & A Diet Coke!

Within my time of blogging, I've been lucky enough to work with some awesome brands - but my absolutely favourite that I get to work with is Diet Coke! Today's post is all about how Diet Coke have teamed up with L'Oreal to offer Boots customers a pretty good deal on lipsticks. Diet coke brand themselves on impulsive moments and they think you can get impulsive by turning up your lipstick a notch and going bold with L'Oreal's Color Riche L'Extraordinaire liquid lipsticks. Within the range of lipsticks, you will find a total of nine different shades to choose from. The two shades I received were a gorgeous bright pink of 'Rose Symphony' and a dark blood red 'Ruby Opera'. So, what's so special about the lipsticks? Well, they aren't just any old lipstick, these are liquid lipsticks that are oil infused for a smooth and moisturizing finish. They are super easy to apply, with a pretty little feather soft wand, with good lasting power too.

So, what's the offer all about? Well, whilst you're doing your shopping in Boots (I know you'll find a way there somehow!), you've got until 26th May to buy a 500ml bottle of Diet Coke and recieve your choice of lipstick with a whopping £5.00 off! That's a total of just £3.99 - bargain.

If I Was A Rich Girl: Alice McCall.

Do you ever imagine just how amazing your wardrobe would be if you had an endless amount of money to spend on clothes? Well, I know I do! Today I've teamed up with Avenue 32 who are a luxury high end shopping portal selling top designers from Lulu Guinness to Alexander Wang - there's plenty to drool over. There's hundreds of items such as handbags, shoes, jewellery and gifts. I was asked to pick out a favourite designer and I chose Alice McCall after seeing her gorgeous creations (as above). I love co-cords and while it's out of my price range, that doesn't stop me from imagining just how lovely it would look. There are loads of gorgeous designs to choose from - you never know, one day we may win the lottery! To see the full Alice McCall range, it's here.

PS - Apologies for my awful blogging lately, I promise I'm on my way back.

Summer With Yves Rocher.

As I type this, the clouds are grey and the sky is gloomy, but just yesterday I was enjoying the sun and reading in the garden! Anyway, Yves Rocher are here to save the day and keep it sunny every day with their products perfect for this time of year. If you're new to Yves Rocher as a brand, they are the number one skincare and cosmetics brand in France and they're working their magic on us Brits too. So, without further ado let's see what products they have to offer for us this summer! Better still, all of these products are reduced to almost half price.

This was the product I was most excited about - it screams summer! I've always wanted a dry oil as I think the packaging looks luxurious and high end and of course gives a gorgeous summer scent. The dry oil itself is packed full of shimmering pigments to apply straight onto your skin. It catches the light perfectly, and illuminates the skin leaving you with a subtle shimmer. It's perfect for enhancing a tan - whether you manage to catch a real one or have to fake it like I do! I think the bottle itself would be a little easier to apply if it was a spray, but that's the only thing i would change about the oil. I also love the cute packaging, with it's daisies and full of the shimmering oil, it's the perfect companion for any sunny day. Psst, it's even half price!

Eek, just look at the cute tropical packaging! Just looking at this makes me feel ready for summer and long for a beach! The Lagoon body wash is perfect for using at home or taking on your holidays. Just like the body oil, the Lagoon wash is enriched with Monoi de Tahiti to let you dream of tropical days. It has a lovely scent, lathers up perfectly (just what I like!) and gets me squeaky clean.

Now, I'm always a bit fussy when it comes to my shampoo. Some shampoos can leave me looking like I hadn't even bothered to wash it, so I do tend to stay clear from creamier formulas. However, I was of course willing to give this a good go. The cleansing cream is designed to be a lighter version of shampoo with no sulphates, silicon and paraben. Being  a cream, it didn't lather up so I found it hard to blend through my hair at first, but when i rinsed it out I could feel how soft my hair was already. After drying, I hadn't quite got the very squeaky clean feel I love, so i just don't think the cleansing cream worked right for me - but that's nothing to say it won't work wonders for you!

Last but not least, it's the most intriguing of the bunch -a vinegar for your hair! I'm all for vinegar on my chips, but on my hair?! That's definitely a first. So, here we have the rinsing raspberry vinegar to give added shine and vitality to your hair and to remove any build up. The first thing you'll notice when you open it, is just how divine it smells. It's such a strong, sweet smell of raspberries - it's gorgeous! You also get a lot of product for your money as you only need to use a few tiny drops. It has an applicator and all you need to do is squeeze a few drops on before the last rinse of your shower. I was really happy with this and think it gave me a little extra shine and thanks to the stunning scent, I'll be using it again!

Would you like to try anything from Yves Rocher?

We All Scream For Ice Cream

You don't need me to tell you that the sun has had its hat on recently - yay! It's been so nice to see the sun shining and be able to wear lighter spring clothes - I've got my eye on lots of new clothes perfect for the weather. With the sun in mind, what better time than to kick back my blog with a post all about ice cream?! In my eyes, you can't beat a classic Mr Whippy with a flake but my mum and sister would argue that Joes Ice Cream in Mumbles beats that anyday! I hope you like my ice cream wishlist and to top it off I thought I'd finish with some pictures of ice cream!
