Benefit Roller Lash Mascara First Impressions & Free Sample.

Today I received a very special package thanks to the Benefit team and it's all down to the brand new Roller Lash mascara release. Now, I have a niggling feeling that you're already aware of Benefit's latest offering so today's post is based more on my initial thoughts so far of Roller Lash and how to get your sample. A Roller Lash package from Benefit landed on my doorstep today and it made my day! Packed inside a gorgeous pink mini cosmetic case contained information about Roller Lash as well as some surprise goodies including the star guest - Elle magazine with a Roller Lash attached. So, Roller Lash as with most high end mascaras isn't going to come cheap. The full size mascara will be released in March and will retail at £19.50. So, is it worth the price tag?

I've heard some pretty big claims about the mascara before it even made it to my eyelashes. Reading the box tells me that a whopping 97% of testers said their lashes were visibly lifted. Roller Lash is called just that as its described as being a roller for your lashes in a mascara form. The brush is modelled on hair rollers with a curved design with tiny hooks to catch and lift the eyelashes. My eyelashes without mascara are non existent. My sister is the only person I know who is blessed with eyelashes that are actually visible with no makeup on - I'm not jealous at all! I tend to go for more thickening mascaras as I like the dramatic look so I was excited to try Roller Lash as it's all about curling and lengthening the lashes.

So far, after two separate tries of the mascara I am really impressed. It takes a lot to impress me with a mascara as I am super fussy! The brush is really easy to handle and it only takes a small amount of coats on my lashes for me to see an improvement. I never tend to bother with curling my eyelashes and I do agree that with Roller Lash you don't even need to. It's also perfect for bottom lashes as it was only the other day I was struggling to apply my mascara on the bottom lashes without getting smudges everywhere and Roller Lash solved that problem straight away. It picks up all the small lashes perfectly and gives a lot of length and curl. The only slight problem I would have with Roller Lash is that I do like quite a dramatic look so I may add a volumising mascara on top but for lengthening and curl - this is an essential in your makeup bag. I would definitely consider buying the full price mascara and I do think it's a lot better than They're Real. Now that you've found out a little more about Roller Lash and if you're a beauty lover like me, you're desperate to try it out, it's really easy to get your miniature sample. All you need to do is buy the Elle magazine as featured above, which costs £4.00 and as well as the magazine you'll find your Roller Lash sample.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes  // Essence Lipstick //Soap & Glory SuperCat // Eyebrow Brush // Concealer Brush // Brow Tint

Whoops, I may have been a little naughty. I feel as if I've been feeling down a lot recently so I decided to bite the bullet and get myself some beauty treats - we're only here once after all! So, first up I was lucky enough to receive a £25 Debenhams voucher for my birthday and I had a sneaky feeling it may get spent on something beauty related! I've been desperate for a new mascara lately and after being let down by L'Oreal's newest Miss Manga, I decided to splash out on Too Faced's latest offering. As you can see I picked up Too Faced's 'Better Than False Lashes' which is a two step mascara system which promises to give you lashes looking even better than falsies - this is one heck of a claim and I'm so excited to put them to the test and of course you can expect a review coming up very soon. This was VERY pricey retailing at £32.00 so it's safe to say I am expecting miracles!

I've been dying to get my hands on some makeup from Soap and Glory's range so with my love of eyeliner in mind, I decided on the 'Super Cat' black eyeliner. I haven't tried a felt tip nib before but surprisingly the first time I used it, we got on just fine. I haven't quite used it enough to offer more thoughts so I'm sure that a Super Cat post will be coming up very soon. I also picked up my first ever item from Essence and I chose a gorgeous red lipstick which only cost £2.30 - amazing! I was so tempted to buy a MAC lipstick but I was good and bought this instead!

Last but not least, this was a little bit like magic. I was lusting after an affordable concealer and eyebrow brush and then all of a sudden Make Up Revolution popped up with a brand new collection of makeup brushes! Seeing as I was buying an eyebrow brush I thought it was only fair to try out a new eyebrow product too. I decided to go for the 'Ultra Aqua Brow Tint' in the lightest shade. It was only £3.00 and I thought it would be perfect to team up with my new eyebrow brush.

Look out for some reviews heading your way!

My Pick Of Pretty Watches.

As the White Rabbit once said "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!". So with the White Rabbit in mind, I've picked out my current favourite watches that are available and I love to keep things varied. I love floral prints, but you know I love Disney so I had to get Mickey and Minnie in here somewhere. I'd also love to have a Michael Kors watch one day - my sister had one for Christmas and I'd love this stunning rose gold one - a girl can dream eh?! x

My Philosophy Favourites

Philosophy are a high end brand that I've been lusting after for some time now. So when the Boxing Day Sales hit, I quickly snapped up two kits from Philosophy. The first kit I bought was 'Hope Favourites Skin Care' which was reduced from £30.00 down to £15.00. Next up I bought the  kit which was reduced from £22 down to £11 - bargain! So, without further ado, here's my favourites from the two kits.

The 'Hope Favourites Skin Care Kit' contained four items of skincare and I wanted to show you my two favourites which I will definitely be repurchasing. One of my new years resolutions was to look after my skin more which is something I've been neglecting lately and these two products are perfect for me to build up a new routine. First up, it's the 'Micro Delivery Exfoliating Wash'. I love a good exfoliator and even better, this is gentle enough that I am able to use it once a day. It's a really mild facial wash which has super gentle exfoliating beads. I only need a very small amount to cover my whole face and I can massage it in for up to 30 seconds before splashing it off with cold water. The aftermath of the facial wash feels amazing - my skin feels so refreshed, clean and pampered. It's a pretty price facial wash but I promise it's worth the money. It helps brighten up my skin, removes any dirt and grime and generally leaves me feeling squeaky clean.

Another skincare favourite of mine is the 'Purity Made Simple Cleanser' which is a three in one cleanser for face and eyes. I actually found that this did sting my eyes a little so I won't be using this to remove my eye makeup. However, the purity cleanser is a really smooth and creamy formula which cleans away grime and traces of makeup as well as moisturising the skin. I was a little confused at first as to whether I just used this with a cotton pad, but this is actually a wash off cleanser as above. It feels really gentle and moisturising and it gives me the same sparkling clean feeling I get after using the Micro Delivery exfoliating wash.

Next up are my three favourite minis which I found in my 'Philosophy Classics' set. As you can see I've got three shower gels - Vanilla Birthday Cake, Raspberry Sorbet and Melon Daiquiri. Each of the titles are pretty self explanatory and smell good enough to eat! I think my favourite out of the three would have to be Melon Daiquiri as it's so fruity and refreshing. All three shower gels double up as a bubble bath and shampoo, however I'm currently just using them for everyday washing.

A High End Beauty Wish List.

Every now and then I get an urge. A urge that requires me to fulfil it by buying a high end beauty product. I've spoken before about high end products opposed to budget and I strongly believe both have their positives and negatives. For today, I'm focusing on the items that I can't justify buying right now so instead I make a wish list! I think my major lust here is MAC's Velvet Teddy - I don't even know how it would look on me but I've seen so many ladies looking fab with it on, I really want to try it for myself. Plus, the fact that it was out of stock for so long made it seem even more exciting! A brand that I feel is out of my reach is Laura Mercier - I really would love to try a bath product rather than beauty, but the price tag is too high for my liking. I'm also lusting after an Elemis Lime and Ginger scrub, it would be like having a spa in my own home! Recently I've been dreaming about being a mobile beauty therapist so this Gellux kit is on top of my list - I can just see me bopping around in my car in between home visits!

What's on your high end beauty wish list? x

My Dream Beauty Room

I'd like to thank Pinterest for the inspiration of this post and of course for the images too! I'm always dreaming of how I want to decorate my own home when I eventually move out - I'm thinking lots of florals, wall art and the odd cat décor here and there! It's one of my dreams to have a beauty dressing room - I'm not as fussed on fashion enough to want a dressing room so I'd much rather turn a spare room into a beauty haven for myself instead. Imagine getting home from a day of work and pampering myself with all my gorgeous products on display. I'd love to decorate it with pretty fairy lights too. It would also be perfect for getting ready for work in the mornings, I'd love to have a cream dressing table covered in fragrances and makeup storages. A girl can dream, eh?

Benefit's NEW Roller Lash Mascara & Free Sample.

I couldn't help but stop myself getting excited about Benefit's newest mascara. I always love a new beauty release and I love it even more when it's Benefit thanks to their quirky packaging and marketing. So, what's Roller Lash mascara all about? When I hear the name 'Roller Lash' it makes me think of glammed up Benebabes waitressing in a diner serving Roller Lash to customers. Roller Lash is the sister of They're Real which claims it's such a curling mascara you won't even need an eyelash curler anymore and also giving you lots of length too. The wand is flexible with tiny hooks to pick up all your lashes.

So, if you're anything like me, you may be itching to get your hands on Benefit's latest release. Well, Benefit have teamed up with Elle magazine and in Elle's March issue (released early Feb) you will be able to pick up a free sample of the Roller Lash mascara. You can even pre-order the issue to make sure you get your hands on a sample - have I don't it already? No, of course not. Cough. Roller Lash will release in March.

Does Roller Lash interest you? x

L'Oreal Miss Manga 'Punky' Mascara Review.

Ever since L'Oreal released the original Miss Manga mascara, I've been a massive fan. So much so, I'd happily call it my favourite budget mascara. So when I spotted that Miss Manga had a new release out, I was straight out to Boots and bought it straight away. So, just who is Miss Manga's new little sister? Well, enter Miss Manga Punky - a volumising mascara that aims for an intense spiky look for both the bottom and top lashes. In all honesty, I bought this out of pure curiosity and of course due to my love of the original Miss Manga.

The packaging is pretty much the same as the original despite the shades of pink being changed to green. The first thing that surprised me about the mascara was the brush. It's very different to the original and I find it quite hard to work with. The wand does not have much of a shape to it, with very short bristles and also picks up quite a lot of the product. Seeing as the purpose of the mascara is all about getting a spiky and intense look, it does clump pretty easily. When I apply to my lashes, I find it hard to get enough length or volume from the mascara. I have tried this over a period of time now but I still sadly cant find myself enjoying it. Unless you are specifically looking for a spiky look - I would personally give this one a miss. The good thing is, it does what it promises by pushing the lashes together to make a spiky look - so I shouldn't really be complaining that it does what it aims can I?! I am disappointed but I cant emphasise enough how great the original Miss Manga is. Miss Manga Punky retailst at £8.99 but is currently on an introductory offer of just £5.99.

Making A Beauty Scrapbook: Part Two.

Hopefully you enjoyed taking a peek at what's inside my scrapbook in yesterday's blog post. I thought it would be a good idea to create a part two for anyone who's now feeling a little creative. When it comes to choosing a scrapbook, you need something that is going to inspire you each time you look at it. For example, the Candy Club one is so sweet and gorgeous, I'd love to fill it with pretty images and quotes. Then you have the map scrapbook, which would perfect for making into a travel journal. As I mentioned yesterday, there are also plain brown scrapbooks that you can buy and you can then decorate the cover yourself.

Once you've chosen your scrapbook, it's time to get it full of inspiration. I think that the first most important thing you need is a stack of old magazines. I love looking through my Look magazines, looking for fashion themes and make up looks to follow. I'd also suggest looking through Pinterest for ideas too if you're stuck, I've made a board of pins about beauty scrapbook which I look at when I get stuck. You may not just want images in your scrapbook so you could get creative by adding stickers, writing with sharpies and generally adding your own personal touches.

Get creative! x

Making A Beauty Scrapbook : Part One.

Scrapbooking is something that I find really therapeutic. It takes my mind off things and I love to just put something on the TV or some music in the background and get stuck in. I've made a start on what I like to call my beauty and fashion scrapbook. At first it just started with themed collages, as you can see from my yellow and pastel pages. After that I thought it would be a good idea to start including some beauty, so I made up an A/W look book including swatches from some perfect products for the season. After that, I knew I wanted to have more beauty pages and in need of inspiration, I headed over to Pinterest. I was really inspired by what I found and managed to make a long list of all different ideas.

If a beauty scrapbook sounds like something you'd be interested in, it's super easy to do. Just treat yourself to a scrapbook, pull out some pictures from magazines, make collages, draw make up looks etc - there's loads to do! I bought my scrapbook from Paperchase but I have also seen some really cute ones in WHSmith and Accessorize. To get even more creative, you could buy a plain brown scrapbook and decorate the cover however you wish, giving it that personal touch. My sister bought me a Smashbook for Christmas which I am super excited to get stuck into, so I'm sure you can expect to see a post on that too. I encourage everyone to keep a scrapbook as it makes me feel so creative and inspired, allowing me to forget any worries that may be on my mind!

Would you start a scrapbook? x

PS - Look out for part two tomorrow, showing just what you need to get started!

Top Five Salon Treatments.

A few months back I went for my first ever spa day and I really enjoyed. It was such a relaxing environment, I definitely need to get planning my next one - we all deserve a treat, don't we?! For today's post I'm talking about my top five beauty salon and spa treatments.
Nails.
I've never actually had a manicure before but this is something I really want to change! I wouldn't want nail extensions as I find them too fiddly to deal with, but I'd love a simple manicure whether it be a pastel shade or an intricate nail art design. It would be a lot easier than me battling with the nail polish!

Salt Scrub.
I would love to have a salt scrub treatment so much. I've just been reading up about an Elemis exotic lime and ginger scrub which sounds heavenly. There's also loads of different varieties of scrubs available - I think I should make it my mission to get through them all!

Tooth Treatments.
I spent years going through the pain of wearing a brace, forever visiting the orthodontist, and I now finally have straight teeth - Hallelujah! (I used to have teeth behind teeth and all sorts). Harley Street Clinic are now offering a new tooth treatment called Invisalign Lite which aligns the teeth over a course of treatments. It's perfect for any poorly positioned teeth or anything that makes you feel a little insecure about.

Facial.
A facial is something I've also never had - unless you count myself doing my skincare regime on a good day?! I'd love to choose a specific facial such as a brightening treatment to give my skin the care that it deserves.

Individual Lashes.
Recently my lashes have been disappearing here and there and this has obviously resulted in my lashes not looking in very good condition. For this reason, I'd love to treat myself to individual lash extensions for a more natural look that I can wear everyday as opposed to using false lashes. I'm also really curious to see how they'd look too!

Favourite Shower Scent: Sugar Crush.

Buttercream // Scrub // Wash //

Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush has got to be my all time favourite scent. As much as I love my perfumes and Snow Fairy, Sugar Crush tops them all. So, when I'm in the shower I always have to have my daily dose of Sugar Crush! After Christmas I had a little money to spend in Boots, so I bought the 500ml Body Wash. My mum had given me the body scrub for Christmas and my nan had also given me a mini pot of body cream. If you're yet to find out the magic of Sugar Crush, I urge you to head to Boots right now and have a little sniff - yes I am one of those people who will stand and breathe in the gorgeous scent whilst people try to barge past me. Sugar Crush is such a unique and  energising, super fruity lime scent with blends of sweet lime and almond oil - trust me, it's stunning. The sugar crush range currently consists of Body Wash, Body Scrub and a Body Buttercream. A Christmas set recently sold a Sugar Crush scented hand cream, which I would beg on my hands on knees for S&G to release a full size version of this!

As I mentioned the body wash is available in a 500ml bottle and is perfect for your everyday dose of Sugar Crush. I love using this as my standard body wash for keeping me squeaky clean. I only need to use at least two pumps as a little goes a long way. It's a pretty hefty bottle and I know it's going to last me a long time after my last bottle kept me happy for a long time. The body scrub comes in S&G's typical hefty tubs full of the scrub which is made from macadamia oils, smashed brown sugar and sweet lime oils. It's perfect for getting rid of dead skin cells and giving your skin a treat. It's not too harsh on your skin, I'd say it's pretty gentle. Last but not least, it's the body buttercream. Thick, luxurious, moisturising and Sugar Crush scented - what more could a girl want?! It absorbs pretty quickly, keeps my skin soft but not too greasy - just what I wanted!

Do you like Sugar Crush? x

Creating Fresh Content Without New Products.

As a blogger myself, I can often find myself tempted to buy things purely to blog about. I may not even be that interested in the latest release, but I know that my readers might like to see swatches, so I should buy it, right? Wrong! I think this is a mistake I have been making over time, of course I would never buy something that I didn't have any interest in, but maybe something that other bloggers are talking about so I feel like I should buy it too. A bit like keeping up with Joneses, if you get me. I'm happy to say that I've grown out of this. I only buy beauty products, fragrances and toiletries when I really want them and when I've researched them properly. You may be seeing the 'bigger' bloggers with loads of new beauty releases to talk about whilst you're raiding your makeup bag - but remember, lots of 'bigger' bloggers will be receiving PR samples that we might not.

What I am trying to say is that it doesn't matter if you don't have the newest makeup, skincare or fragrances. You don't need the newest Marc Jacobs fragrance to look like a good blogger - you just need fresh ideas, products you already love and of course, if you want the Marc Jacobs fragrance and you can get a blog post out of it too, then it's a win win situation! If you're stuck for blog post ideas and you're wishing you could splash out on loads of new makeup but your bank balance just says no, then I've got a few ideas for you.

My favourite posts to write are wish lists. They are so easy to make and you can get as creative as you want! Choose a theme, do a 'get the look' for celebrities fashion and makeup. Interview other bloggers. Raid your makeup bag and talk about what you've already got. Write a poem, article or short story - something that you'd enjoy reading yourself. Do some baking and take pictures. Show readers pictures of your life - a bedroom tour, childhood memories posts etc. Write about your favourite holiday with lots of photos. Show your favourite makeup looks, get creative. Just remember, there's always lots of new posts to write without it having to be new products. Try not to feel pressured and write whatever makes you happy.

Themed Wishlist #18: Burgundy.

Eek! I pretty much love everything in this wish list - I just can't help myself! I thought I would be best to get my burgundy wish list (worst title ever?!) in before we start talking all things spring and summer of 2015. I'm sure the winter weather will be sticking with us for a little longer so you can wrap up warm in these fab picks. I'm a lover of boots, I don't tend to wear anything unless I am forced to in the hot weather - so I would be perfectly happy to be wearing these, along with the coat, headband, nail polish and vampy lips - perfect.

Warehouse Black Lace Shift Dress
Am I just a little too late to show you what I wore on Christmas day?! I'm sure you'll be kind enough to forgive me anyway, right? So this Christmas I had an extra special present thanks to the lovely team at Warehouse. I was even lucky enough to choose my very own dress to wear on Christmas day from their selection of dresses and I'm really pleased with my choice. I opted for a black lace shift dress which has gorgeous detailing of black lace overly. I had previously tried on a shift dress and it was quite an unflattering shape but this shift dress fitted perfectly. It even gave me enough room to stuff myself silly! The dress has beige underlining. I teamed it up with a bold red lip and black and gold glitter nails. If you fancy getting your hands on this gorgeous dress, you better be quick as it's currently on sale for a bargain price of just £20.00.

Chloe Love Story Perfume Review.

Chloe Love Story

Each and every time I have a new fragrance that I like - it instantly gets described as my new favourite. So, meet my next new favourite thanks to a stunning new fragrance from Chloe - 'Love Story'. I was actually lucky enough to win this in a competition and it's exceeded my expectations. Before I talk about the fragrance itself, I'll tell you a little bit about the history behind Love Story. Love Story, as you may have guessed by the name is all about romance. Think floral, fresh and romantic - it's described as being the essence of seduction. It's inspired by the romance of Paris and the love padlocks on the bridge of the Pont Des Arts.

As you can see it's packaged beautifully inspired by a padlock, decorated with a gold metal handlebar and a light ribbon. I've never claimed to be a fragrance expert, so I'll do my best to describe the stunning scent of Love Story to you. After just two spritzes the scent fills the room but it's worth it - it's beautiful. It's perfectly suitable for everyday wear, it's so fresh and fruity it's perfect for wearing to work and to topping up for a night out later on. The perfume itself focuses on notes of orange blossom made from neroli, orange blossom and jasmine. It has good staying power and I only felt that I would need a top up after around 6 hours wear. For me - Chloe is all about romance and elegance. It's definitely one of my new favourites and the gorgeous padlock bottle will be taking pride of place next to my bedside. If you're a fragrance lover and you love floral and romantic scents; you need to get Love Story on the top of your wish list. A 30ml bottle starts at £47.00. Chloe Love Story is currently exclusive to Debenhams and if you're feeling super spendy you can even treat yourself to a shower gel and body lotion too.

Have you tried Chloe's Love Story? x

Beauty Products To Buy In 2015.

I always get so excited about new beauty releases , even if it's from a brand that I've never heard of or used before! I was inspired to write this post after spotting a brand new upcoming fragrance from Taylor Swift (which I found in Heat magazine!). I'm a fan of 'Blank Space' by Taylor Swift so I love the title of 'Incredible Things' and I love the bright, floral and eye catching packaging. Unfortunately, I'm unaware of the release date but I will try and keep you updated. Benefit are back in February with a brand new eye gel - Puff Off. It looks super cool and refreshing and aims to smooth any creases under the eyes.

Makeup For Ever is a brand that I haven't actually spotted before. Currently based in the USA, a lot of beauty bloggers are excited that Makeup Forever will be hitting Debenhams. This month, Chanel are releasing a brand new facial hydra beauty micro serum - even the bottle makes it look luxurious for my skin! The serum aims to intensely hydrate the skin as well as leaving you with smooth and glowing skin. I've used Vichy skincare before so I have a feeling the next product may be on my wish list. Vichy's LiftActiv Supreme releases this month, available from Boots.

I'm sure you're all aware of the madness that is Fifty Shades Of Grey that is about to hit us! Not only have we been bombarded with the books, but the film will be released just before Valentine's Day. OPI have created a collection dedicated to the franchise made up of six mini polishes. Last but not least, I've saved the best until last. Too Faced will be back with a bang for their brand new Spring collection - and this is just a sneak peek! I will try to find out some more information and put together a post focusing on Too Faced as I have a feeling this may be something worth looking out for!

Are you looking forward to any beauty releases this year?

PS - Don't forget MAC will be releasing a Cinderella collection! x
