L'Oreal Miss Manga 'Punky' Mascara Review.

Ever since L'Oreal released the original Miss Manga mascara, I've been a massive fan. So much so, I'd happily call it my favourite budget mascara. So when I spotted that Miss Manga had a new release out, I was straight out to Boots and bought it straight away. So, just who is Miss Manga's new little sister? Well, enter Miss Manga Punky - a volumising mascara that aims for an intense spiky look for both the bottom and top lashes. In all honesty, I bought this out of pure curiosity and of course due to my love of the original Miss Manga.

The packaging is pretty much the same as the original despite the shades of pink being changed to green. The first thing that surprised me about the mascara was the brush. It's very different to the original and I find it quite hard to work with. The wand does not have much of a shape to it, with very short bristles and also picks up quite a lot of the product. Seeing as the purpose of the mascara is all about getting a spiky and intense look, it does clump pretty easily. When I apply to my lashes, I find it hard to get enough length or volume from the mascara. I have tried this over a period of time now but I still sadly cant find myself enjoying it. Unless you are specifically looking for a spiky look - I would personally give this one a miss. The good thing is, it does what it promises by pushing the lashes together to make a spiky look - so I shouldn't really be complaining that it does what it aims can I?! I am disappointed but I cant emphasise enough how great the original Miss Manga is. Miss Manga Punky retailst at £8.99 but is currently on an introductory offer of just £5.99.

  1. I love how strange this brush looks, I'm looking forward to trying this one out if it comes out in the US - haven't spotted it yet.

  2. Ooh the brush looks so odd! I like the sound of the original Miss Manga, but I think I'll be avoiding this one. Thank you for the review! xx

  4. I just don't think I would use this, I like my lashes to be separated and long and it seems like this dies the complete opposite!

  5. The brush looks so weird! Not sure I could wear the spike look on my lashes but might try just out of interest lol

  9. I've just recently picked this mascara up, it's a shame you didn't like it :( I was the same with the original Miss Manga, I never got on with it at first and then once I figured out the wand I love it :)

  10. I'm not sure if it's the photo or the brush itself but I wouldn't be tempted at all to use this...
