Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation Review.

It's not often that I buy a foundation on a whim - I'll usually research into it and read lots of reviews, especially when it's at an expensive price. After seeing a few adverts for Maybelline's latest foundation, I decided to give it a try as I had some Boots points to try out anyway. The liquid foundation is called 'Dream Flawless Nude' and aims to give flawless coverage with a very thin texture. When I'm using a foundation, the most important thing is of course the shade matching well to my skin and full coverage too. The foundation is available in seven different shades and I chose the palest.

Claims aside, what's the foundation actually like? As you can see it's packaged in a cute dinky glass bottle and comes with a tear drop applicator. I love the tear drop applicator as it gives it that extra edge over a pump but I do find that pump is easier to use. The foundation is lightweight and has concentrated pigments. I've used this term before, but quite frankly it does apply like a dream. The formula is so silky it's like moisturising your skin as you apply your foundation - it feels really refreshing compared to thicker formulas.

As for how the foundation looks, it doesn't quite meet my full coverage standards (and they are pretty high to be fair!). As I mentioned it's a lightweight formula but instantly makes a positive difference to my skin without a cakey appearance and can be built up but I couldn't quite build it up enough personally. I would say it's definitely a medium coverage, but if you like everything covered up it may be more of a natural look than you're looking for. The foundation retails at £8.99.

  1. Ooh this looks good! Although I'm a full coverage addict.

  2. This sounds nice and the bottle is now plus so is the applicator. Sounds like a good formula too and has some good coverage.

  3. This looks so interesting! I've seen the adverts too but dismissed it as I thought there wouldn't be a shade pale enough but this actually looks really good! Great review :)

  7. the packaging looks adorable!! I might want to try it, however, L'Oreal came out with their new matte foundation and I really would like to try that first..

  8. The packaging does look super pretty but being the clumsy person I am I feel like I'd end up with foundation everywhere! What did you use to apply it?

  9. This sounds like it'll be perfect for when the weather heats up! I prefer to use light-feeling foundations and then add heavier coverage just where I need it :)
