My Hemnes Dressing Table & Life Update.

It's always been a goal of mine to own a dressing table. Some people want to become doctors, become famous, make scientific breakthroughs and then there's me, dreaming of the day that I finally own a dressing table - well that day has finally come! As I'm sure you're aware my blog has been so neglected this year but now that I am settled into my new home (more on that soon) I'm now thinking that now is the time to come back to blogging. Blogging in Autumn/winter is also my most favourite time as we all get to go crazy with the gift guides and festive themes, so I want to make an effort to come back to my online space.

Recently myself and my boyfriend bought our very first home together and over the past two months it has been absolutely crazy, spending every evening after a long day at work renovating and making it ours and I'm pleased to say we've finally made it to the finishing line. We definitely haven't finished, I have more things I want to buy but certainly can't afford and our garden needs work doing, but it will all come in time. I would like to add some more lifestyle and home posts to this blog too, so I'm going to get my thinking cap on. Also, I have two kittens! Arnold & Sylvester - I'm going to do a post about them soon as I love them so much I want to share them with you too.

So, ramble over, here's what I'm here to talk about. (Well, it's just a dressing table but still). On a recent trip to IKEA where we practically bought at least 20% of the store before having to fit it all in the back of a van and go home, I picked up my first ever dressing table. I chose the HEMNES dressing table with mirror  which cost me £135 (where's my stool?) and it's a crisp clean white with plenty of space for all my goodies, with a large mirror, two small drawers and a large drawer which is practically hidden underneath which makes the dressing table look even more sophisticated. It is also available in a gorgous pastel pink too! My bedroom has a gold glitter theme so I've added in plenty of gold sparkles to add to the decor of the room. I've included links above for anything incase it takes your fancy!

Anyone know where I can get a nice stool from?!

Kate Spade Minnie Mouse Collection

WARNING: This post may make you want to spend money. (A lot of it).

I'll admit that I've been a pretty rubbish blogger lately, but I'm hoping to get the ball rolling and finally get back into it. My favourite posts to create are always wishlists as I love finding new products to share with you, add to my wishlist and also jazz up my blog a little bit with new pretty items. Kate Spade NY is my favourite designer, if I won the lottery I would definitely go wild and order a crazy amount of items - especially anything with glitter on it! As I was browsing Kate Spade's UK website recently, I headed over to the 'New In' section and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this beautiful new Minnie Mouse collection. Being designer items, they are most definitely not cheap - but you never know, one day they could be ours! Plus, free delivery means it's not too much of a splurge, right?!

Perfect Summer Dresses With House Of Fraser

We may be heading into Autumn any time soon, but there's still a chance that the sun will rear its head for us in order for us to finally wear a summer dress without receiving any strange looks! I love dresses as they are such a simple item of clothing to have in your wardrobe, are much more comfortable than wearing tight jeans and also makes you look like you made more of an effort than you actually have! With this in mind, I have worked with House of Fraser on this post to pick out some of my favourite picks of their womens designer dresses to share with you. I've tried to choose as big a variety as possible as we all have different tastes so we've got a mixture of stunning silver and glitter sequin dresses, maxi dresses and beautiful floral patterns. As there were so many gorgeous items to choose from, I decided to split it up into two separate wishlists - one for dresses under £50 and one for on the pricier side!

Seventeen Mega Matte Lipsticks

I'm a huge lover of lipstick. Only recently have I started to realise that my makeup routine is not complete each day without a slick of different lipstick. I'm starting to become more confidence with the shades that I use such as bold reds, corals and paler pinks for a more neutral look. Seventeen are my favourite budget beauty brand thanks to their affordable pricing yet impressive products. Seventeen as a brand are exclusive to Boots and have recently released 12 new shades of the brand new Mega Matte lipsticks.

As you can see the packaging of each lipstick is pretty slimline, sleek black and really easy to fit more than one in your already jam packed makeup bag! With it being a matte lipstick, I was certainly expecting it to flake on my lips and not last very long - but I have to put my tail between my legs and admit I was wrong. On first application, I definitely recommend using a lip balm or exfoliator first as I did find that my lips were quite dry so that did initially make it a little harder to blend into my lips. This can be rectified easily by using a quick slick of lip balm before applying your chosen colour. I'm always a little sceptical about how long lipsticks are going to last compared to how long they actually do last - but the Mega Matte lipsticks honestly give a gorgeous bold colour to your lips and last a solid few hours before it needs topping up, which is just fine to me. There's nothing worse than realising an hour later that you're lipstick has completely disappeared but luckily this won't happen here!

As I mentioned, there's plenty of shades to choose from. You can use Seventeen's 'Find your matte heaven' match wheel to help find your perfect shade if you feel that you'll need a little guidance. The stunning shades range from shades such as 'Violet Summer', 'Lava you a lot', 'Roses are red' and 'Nude News'. There's definitely a shade for everyone. The Mega Matte lipsticks are an absolute bargain at just £4.49 each and are available online at Boots or in store.

Feline Catty Wishlist

I think that the blogging buzz has finally returned to its rightful owner after being out of action for way too long. I can't quite explain what it was that made me have such a long time between writing my posts but I felt that my interests were elsewhere and I just didn't have the time or concentration to sit down and focus. However, today I'm back with one of my favourite posts to create - a wishlist! Not any old wishlist, but in honour of my love of cats - its a feline frenzy wishlist! Cats are my all time favourite animals, they're so cute and snuggly and love to sleep just as much as I do. I think I've found some stunning items in this wishlist, I especially love the trinket trays and pink stapler. I hope you find some pretty bargains in this post - let me know if there's any other animals you think I should focus on too and I can create that too! x

The Ultimate At Home Chocolate Spa Experience.

I absolutely love spa days. I love being able to go somewhere to be able to completely relax and switch off and of course be pampered whilst catching up on a good book or magazine. I've also recently been listening to spa and meditation music on the internet, which I love listening to before I fall asleep at night. I would definitely recommend it if you're feeling a little on edge or anxious as I've always scoffed at the idea of music being able to help me, but currently I do find it really helps me relax.

Unfortunately, apart from the odd Groupon deal here and there, spa days don't come cheap and if I won the lottery, I think I'd be visiting one each week! So, with that in mind I recently got thinking about some lovely new chocolate body products that I've picked up recently and thought I'd recommend them to you so that you can create your very own at home chocolate spa experience! So to start off, I run a lovely hot bubble bath using my favourite Avon Chocolate & Orange bubble bath. Not only is this a bargain for a 1 litre bottle, but it creates plenty of bubbles and fills the bathroom and even the landing with a heavenly scent. I'll find myself my latest book or magazine and make sure that my spa music is playing on my phone too. There's loads of different varieties on Youtube to choose from and it really reminds me of being in a spa treatment room! As well as my usual shower and bath products, I'll treat myself to my Avon Planet Spa Chocolate Face Mask. It has a stunning scent of chocolate and applies to the skin smoothly and dries on to the skin quickly. After my bath, I'll wash off the face mask with warm water and finish off my routine by applying my 'Beautifully Scrumptious' chocolate body butter which I picked up from the pound shop.

I also think that to complete the full chocolate spa experience, it's only fair that you've got a chocolate bar to nibble on too! If you're now in the mood for treating yourself to some lovely chocolate treats without the calories - check out my previous post here

New In Beauty: June Edition

I highly doubt you've failed to notice but Benefit are completely overhauling their brow products and they're definitely going to make an impact on a lot of blogger's bank balances! Brow Zings was the first ever brow product that I truly fell in love with so I definitely trust Benefit with my brows and I'm really intrigued by their brand new range. I'm a sucker for stunning packaging and these new products certainly don't disappoint in that area with their gorgeous silver shades and pink fonts. The product I'd most like to try is their new 'Ka-brow!' which is a crème gel brow colour with a built in brush - I'd definitely like to see how it compares with ABH's Dip Brow! Some familiar faces have been revamped such as Brow Zings & Gimme Brow. The full range will include the following: BROWVO! conditioning primer, goof proof brow pencil, gimme brow, precisely, my brow pencil, brow zings, ready, set, BROW!, 3D BROWtones eyebrow enhancer and finally, ka-BROW! All the products will be available from 24th June.

I've got my eye on these pretty little scents from Hawaiian Tropic. There are four body mists to choose from, each with eye-catching packaging and scents that will be perfect for summer or for reminding you of the sun on those rainy days! The four scents are 'Summer Dreams' -  passion flower, mango and musks, 'Sunkissed Dreams' -  lotus flower and sheer musks, 'Tropic Island Resort' - rain kissed orchid and pomegranate and lastly 'Golden Paradise' -  warm sand and creamy coconut. I think that Golden Paradise sounds luxurious and it's definitely on my wishlist! The body mists cost £9.99 each for 250ml and are on offer for 2 for £15.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm a big lover of Essie nail polishes. They're such fabulous quality and really do give a high-shine gel look. Essie will release a brand new range of Gel Couture nail polishes which has 25 different shades to choose from and all you need to do is add the top coat - no lamp or damaging gel nails needed! Don't expect the polishes to look like your everyday Essie bottle - these new bottles are very unique with their twisted bottle and twisted brushes too. The polishes will be released on Tuesday 1st June. I've also included a new Bare Minerals mascara which has a super skinny petite precision brush which would be perfect for picking up inner lashes and I'd love to use this on my bottom lashes too. Lastly, Benefit have released a fantastic new concealer palette which contains two shades of boi-ing, erase paste, eye bright, and lemon aid for a bargain price of £19.50.

I now wish I had everything on this list! x

Catch Up: A Little Life Update

Blogging.
I've been a little confused about my blog lately. Sometimes, I am full of ideas and can only dream of having more time in the day to take photos, create wishlists and of course write my posts but then other days I'm left thinking - 'but what's the point?!' Well the point is, I started this blog because I love writing and creating and this is a place where I can express myself, be appreciated for it and see lots of others work too. I certainly don't want to give up on my blog because I've worked so hard for it to finally be the way I want to be, but sometimes the doubts keep coming back. I want to try and think of unique posts like I used to be able to but I also need to stop putting pressure on myself. Sometimes as you'll know if you're a blogger yourself, you can spend a good two hours working on a post only for it to receive no comments and hardly any views. I know that we aren't here for the views. comments and followers but at the end of the day it is like a sign of appreciation for our work isn't it?! So I love popping quick comments on my favourite blogs and I'm always looking out for new ones too. I'd like to know if anyone else is feeling a little confused about their blog too, because I still can't quite put my finger on it.

My Holiday.
I recently had an amazing six nights staying in the Maldives. I am planning on putting together a post to show you more photos because it's such a beautiful place, I really want everyone to experience it once in their lives. The beach was idyllic, the sun was shining, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and I just felt the most relaxed that I have in a very long time. I wish I could have bottled it up. We stayed at the Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa hotel, where we had a beach villa which had back doors which opened on to two personal sun loungers and just a seconds walk away from the sea. I wish I was back there right now!

My First Home.
For the past few years, my boyfriend and I have been saving up our earnings each month and we've finally got to where we wanted to be - we have had an offer accepted on our very first home. I love it so much and it was in our budget - it's a cellared house which means the kitchen and garden are downstairs, it's really quirky which is why I love it so much. It's still early days and the surveys are yet to go through so I am still preparing myself in case anything goes wrong between now and then. I won't relax and believe it's ours until the keys are in my hand!We have a lot of DIY planned (I'll be taking a back seat there!). I'm thinking of taking some before and after photos to share with you.

Hobbies.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I've been keeping myself busy by making my way back through the Harry Potter series. I find them so easy to read and they completely take my mind off everything else that might be going on. I'm also planning on making a new scrapbook based on lots of things that might come in handy for my home, such as home decor ideas, tips and recipes - I need to start ripping up some magazines I think. Pinterest has been really helping me to get inspired with free printables I have found and of course loads more other tips and tricks. I've also had a few bargains on ebay this week which I'm really pleased about, I may pop them in a post too as well as some new homeware bits and bobs that I've bought.

Hope you enjoyed catching up with me or having a general nose - I love reading these kinds of post because I'm a nosy parker! x

Re-Reading Harry Potter.

If you were to ask me what my favourite book was, I'd have to say any book from the Harry Potter series. Ever since I was young, I have always been a book worm what with my favourite books as a child being anything from Jacqueline Wilson and then of course I went on to Harry Potter. I think that the magic of JK Rowling's books is that they were never aimed at just children - parents loved them just as much. I remember my sister and I would both be excited to get our hands on the latest books and I still remember the day I finally picked up Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows - it was like a race against time to see how quickly I could get through it! Of course, we were then lucky enough to see the magic come alive with the eight films.

Although I have watched each of the films countless times and read the books once, I knew that it was time for me to revisit the magic of the books. As much as I love the films and I feel they really turned Harry Potter into the phenomenon it deserves to be - I find reading books easier to understand sometimes as I can fully focus on what is going on and reading back a few pages if I get confused! I'm currently reading Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire and I've been enjoying reading it in my lunch break at work as it brings back so many memories of my childhood and allows me to get lost in the book and forget about other things for a while. I've decided that after I've finished each book, I'm going back to the film of that book to see it on the big screen yet again. I've also loved the illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and I've since learnt that there will be an illustrated version of each book, so I'll definitely be collecting these over the years!

Are you a Harry Potter fan? x

A Trio of Essie Nail Polishes & Diet Coke

I have a new found love for Essie polishes. I've used them before and enjoyed using them, but this week I have been using the shade 'Cocktail Bling' which is a stunning pale grey nail polish which has given such a professional look - it honestly looks like I've had my nails done and I've gone a whole three days without a single chip - I am massively impressed! The reason I was lucky enough to try some Essie polishes is thanks to the lovely team at Diet Coke who kindly sent me some Essie goodies to promote their new offer at Boots stores. At Boots stores you can pick up a 500ml bottle of Diet Coke and one of three Essie polishes which will only cost you a total of £5.39. Don't forget to check your Boots points - you may even get them for free! You are able to choose from three different Essie polishes. These include 'Cocktail Bling' - a glossy pale grey, 'Fiji' - a creamy pale pink and 'Fishnet Stockings' - a spicy dark crème red. The offer is available in Boots stores until Tuesday 24th May. New In Beauty: May Edition

L'Oreal mascaras will always be my favourite make up products. I love using their False Lash Superstar which is a double ended fibre mascara which gives such good results without having to work too hard to get voluminous lashes. I also love the Miss Manga mascara, so the Miss Hippie mascara has definitely caught my eye. It's a volumising and thickening mascara which is exactly what I love and has kaleidoscope bristles for festival ready eyelashes - or everyday lashes if you're not a festival fan!

Barry M New Releases.
Barry M have got  to be one of my favourite budget brands and they continue to impress me as they bring out more and more products that are on my wishlist. I currently love using their Sunset Daylight Curing nail polishes which are just £4.99 each and give such a professional finish, they honestly look just as good as gel nails without the damage. For their new SS16 releases, Barry M are introducing two shades of an Illuminating Strobing Cream. Strobing is all the range in the beauty industry at the moment, so I'm sure these will fly off the shelves retailing at just £4.49 each. There are also two new ranges of nail polishes including Molten Metals and  Lolly Gloss. Barry M have also released a cutely packaged 'Hide & Chic Palette' which contains five velvet powders including a bronzer, blusher and highlighter.

As both a Disney and cosmetics fan, this palette would look absolutely perfect on my future dressing table! As I'm sure you'll have seen by now, Urban Decay have released a limited edition Alice Through The Looking Glass eye shadow palette  which is absolutely beautiful. It's such a unique design with its 3D butterfly and the shadows are arranged by characters such as Alice, The Mad Hatter, The White & Red queen and Time.

I'm the proud owner of my first ever shower jelly! I've always loved the unique Sugar Crush scent, so when I found Soap & Glory's brand new shower jellies, I snapped one up straight away. There are two to choose from in either the classic Clean on Me scent or the gorgeous Sugar Crush.

If you didn't manage to get your hands on a Kylie Lip Kit but are pretty keen to try a recommended product of hers, I found a brand new range of Kylie Jenner Sinful Colour nail polishes on Superdrug's website. They are completely affordable at just £3.00 each for the base shade and then you will need to purchase a top coat for just £3.00 to create a gel manicure look on a budget. This is the 'King Kylie' collection and I believe these will be available on the 1st June.

Would you like to try any of the above products? x

A Mini Boots Haul

You know those days when you accidentally fall into Boots, manage to make your way to the clearance section and before you know it you're at the till with a bag full of goodies? Well, today was one of those days - although I did manage to not go too mad! I'm heading off on my holidays tomorrow, so I was on the hunt for a beach bag and a few last minute toiletries in Boots. First up is something I'm so excited to try - it's a brand new release from Soap and Glory in my favourite scent of Sugar Crush. The Sugar Crush Shower Jelly has the unique heavenly scent of sugar crush with a jelly juice texture which melts onto wet skin and makes a lovely lather - I've never tried a shower jelly before so I can't wait to try this out. I was also extra happy with this as I used my points to pay for it! Recently I've been loving Garnier's Delicate Oat shampoo, so I decided to treat myself to the Delicate Oat face and body multi-purpose soothing balm. It has a beautiful scent and seems quite rich in texture, so will definitely be a treat to slather this on in the evenings.

I can't head to Boots without having a peek in the clearance section and luckily I wasn't disappointed. There were a lot of bath and body products from the Boots Botanics range and this soothing body polish was reduced to just £1.10, so I snapped it up quickly! I also decided to treat my self to a face mask to take on my holidays with me and I opted for the 7th Heaven Creamy Coconut treatment mask. Keep an eye on my posts as I am hoping to review my new products seperately. I have not got any posts scheduled for when I am away - but I'll be back as soon as I can, hope you don't mind.

Have you treated yourself lately? x

Chocolate Beauty Products

If you weren't already in the mood for some chocolate - you may want to look away now! I'm a big lover of all things beauty as you know and I find them even better when they are chocolate scented. My inspiration from this post came from my recent review of Avon's Chocolate Orange Bubble Bath which smells divine and is such a bargain. Since using the bubble bath, I started wondering what other chocolate beauty products were on the market - and here's the answers! I'm yet to try a fragrance from The Library Of Fragrance but I've added the 'Chocolate Chip Cookie' cologne spray to my wishlist. I've also found some other beauty bits such as a chocolate shade Essie nail polish, the Too Faced Chocolate eye-shadow bar which even smells of chocolate as well as lots of other goodies such as chocolate face masks, smashable soap bars, a lip balm and shower gel - I'm sorry if this post makes you want to get your hands on a big bar of chocolate!

Have you tried any chocolate beauty products? x

Enjoying Your Own Company

enjoy your own company:
I've always been an introvert. Don't get me wrong, I love meeting new people, going to new places and socialising with my close friends and family but I'm also comfortable in my own company. I know that a lot of people can sometimes get fidgety when home alone or are wanting to be out with friends, so I thought I'd put together some tips to help you enjoy your own company more.

Going out alone.
Sometimes it can seem a little daunting to do things alone - but I think it's worth stepping out of your comfort zone as it can help build up your confidence. I think it's important to have space to yourself to be able to do the things that you enjoy doing, especially after a busy week. I always try and make time to do this, even if it's just having a quick look around the shops or going to the library. Of course, it's always fun to have company and have a natter as you go along but I also am just fine to go it alone. I'm also a fan of going to a comfy coffee shop alone (not that I get the time anymore!) as I think it would be the perfect opportunity to get used to being out alone whilst catching up with some blogging and enjoying a few treats of course.

Make your own space.
I absolutely love my bedroom and find it's one of my favourite ways to relax. I mentioned this in my previous post about getting a good night's sleep as I feel it's so important to be comfortable and feel safe in your environment. Maybe you have to share a bedroom, or are running low on cash so can't spend money on new home decor - why not raid the charity shops and ebay to see what bargains you can find? Think about what suits you best - are fairy lights too girly for you? Does the perfect room involve lots of snacks on your bedside table and a big stack of books to read? Decorating a space exactly how you like it means that when it comes to having a night in alone, you may even find yourself looking forward to it!

Enjoy your indoor hobbies.
When I get time to myself at home, I love to make the most of it and catch up on my favourite things. I've recently started re-reading Harry Potter so I've got plenty of books to get through and I also love my colouring books, watching makeup tutorials, writing my blog, reading magazines and of course catching up on my favourite TV programmes. Always make time to give yourself a pamper too! If you need to feel distracted and something's on your mind - why not try something creative? You could do scrapbooking, filling a photo ablbum, write blog posts or get active at do some yoga at home.

Do you enjoy your own company or do you get lonely quickly? x

This is the perfect scent for spring and summer thanks to its gorgeously sharp scent of lemons - it's the perfect pick me up. With it being a shower gel and a bubble bath, you will of course be getting two choices for your money. The Best Blogger Networks.

As a blogger, it's probably likely that at some point in your time of blogging that you've looked at other bloggers and wondered how they found about such fabulous opportunities that they get such as working with brands. If you want to take your blog to the next level and are looking for new opportunities to grow your blog, I've collected a few of my favourite websites and blogger networks that I enjoy using. I have been lucky enough to work with brands over time and of course sometimes you will be contacted out of the blue to review products but in case that seems to be drying up lately, here's what I use to help get my blog a little extra work. I know that blogging isn't just about the free things and opportunities and my favourite posts to write are the ones where ideas have popped out of nowhere but I can't deny that it's a bonus!

This website is super easy to use. It's free to sign up and you'll need to create a log in and a profile to share information about your blog. If you sign up to the newsletter, you will recieve a weekly email with the top blogging assignments they have on offer each week. I find the newsletter the best way to catch up with the opportunities as it can be time consuming to keep checking back on websites to see what has been updated. When you see an opportunity that you'd like to sign up for, you'll need to complete a sign up form and write a quick cover letter explaining why your blog is a good fit for the brand. Bloggers Required have worked with some awesome brands such as F&F, Premier Inn, Treaclemoon, Papa Johns, Superdrug and many more.

Type The Hype is a relatively new blogger network which works with some amazing high end brands such as Elemis, Kersastase, Results with Lucy, Chelsea Boutique & also fashion brands such as Apricot and Chi Chi. You'll need to sign up to the network, again making a profile for your blog. All you need to do is visit the 'assignments' tab where you'll find lots of opportunities to choose from and you can apply for as many as you like. When you apply, you'll need to write a quick cover letter to explain why you are applying before you submit. It can sometimes take up to two weeks to hear back for your application and so far I havent been lucky enough to work with them - but I'll still be trying!

This is a Facebook page I keep up to date with on a regular basis. Lots of brands regularly post opportunities such as sponsored posts or blog reviews and all you'll need to do is reply to the facebook post or contact the relevant person if they've put up an email address to contact. It's also good to interact with the other members for a general chat and blogging tips and it's also a good way to promote your blog posts in the relevant sections.

These are my top visited blogger networks, but there's also a few others to get your teeth stuck into!

10 Reasons Not To Give Up On Your Blog

1) You've made new friends and will continue to do so.
Since I started my blog, I've made some online friends which may sound strange to some, but if you're a blogger yourself, you'll definitely understand what I mean. It's been so good to be able to connect with others who have the same interests as me and I'm sure you'll have online bloggers that you consider as friends. Lots of bloggers have also gone on to meet up at events and then become good friends in 'real life' too - and you can't get much better than that. If you feel you don't get the chance to build up a friendship with others online, I suggest joining in with the Twitter chats especially as there are so many new ones to join in with.

2) You've had some pretty awesome opportunities and there's still more to come.
Okay, so I definitely didn't start my blog for the opportunities but I'd be lieing if I said it wasn't a perk. I have been lucky enough to work with brands such as Benefit, Diet Coke, John Frieda and Fragrance Direct - I really appreciate these opportunities and they give me confidence in my blog as I feel honoured that these lovely brands trust me! Take a moment to think about the brands you've worked with. Who made your day when you were surprised with a parcel after a long day at work? Have you attended any fun blog events? Remember that you are valued as a blogger and of course, opportunities dry up and sometimes it seems as if everyone else is doing better than you - take a moment to look at how far you've come.

3) Remember why you started.
Think back to the day when you finally plucked up the courage to start your very own blog. You probably felt nervous and scared - who on earth was going to read what we had to say?! Well, let's eat our words because look how well we've done! If you're losing your way with your blog, look back through your old posts and find out what you love writing about the most - remember why you started in the first place. You didn't start because you wanted to get more followers, you started because you're creative and love writing.

4) You can change Directions.
Just like anything in life, after a while things can become stale. We change as we grow older meaning our interests that we once had don't interest us anymore. Maybe you started your blog purely based on beauty, but after two years you're starting to wonder if there's something else you should write about instead. I think it's important to shake up your posts to keep your interest going. If you're stuck for ideas there's lots of different things you could try writing about such as books, recipes, TV shows, snippets of your life -there's no need to focus solely on one thing.

5) There's so many more ideas to come.
How frustrating is blogging block? Very. I know exactly how it feels. You've got the whole day to yourself, you've had a little pamper and now you're ready to catch up on your blog posts - but you've got absolutely no clue what to write about or where to start. That's when I know that a day of blogging just isn't doable - and that's ok. Remember how lovely it feels when a blog post idea randomly pops into your head from nowhere - that will be back soon!

6) Your blog is yours and yours only.
Your blog is yours and nobody can take that away from you. No blog has got the same name as you, the same writing technique, the same pictures and most importantly the same ideas. It can be hard to stand out in the blogging world, especially as there's so many of us beauty blogging, but you have to remember you are different and despite someone of us reviewing the same products, we are all our own person and have different stories to tell.

7) You can take a break.
This is the best thing you'll do if you and your blog have hit a rough patch. Last summer I completely fell out of love withy my blog, so I completely ignored it until I was finally ready to come back. I do wish I hadn't needed so long to come back but there's no point creating posts if you're just not 'in the mood'. If you're working full time, or busy with other life things then don't forget that your blog isn't always going to be number one and taking a break can do you the world of good.

8) Others have made it through.
There seems to be a lot of us who are finding it hard to keep up our relationships with our blogs. A few bloggers who I followed right back when I started no longer blog because their hearts just aren't in it anymore. It does seem a shame because we all put so much passion into our posts but it's simply not worth carrying on if it's not fun anymore. However, lots of us are still ploughing through, taking a break when we feel overwhelmed with it and then we're back and better than ever.

9) People love your blog.
Sometimes it can be hard not to focus on followers and you can feel like you've hit a plateau - but take a quick look at how many people are following and reading your posts. It may not be as many as the next person, but put it into perspective - imagine 300 people in a room and all of them follow your blog and want to know what you have to say - that's pretty good going!

10) It's a hobby.
I don't know about you, but I don't have many hobbies other than food, holidays and shopping so it's nice that I can have a creative outlet. I love being able to make pretty pictures, writing new posts and sharing with you what I love - it's all part of my fun. The only problem as I've discussed is when it stops being fun - that's when you know it's time to take a break.

How are you finding blogging lately? x

New In Beauty: April Edition

I'm really excited about the new 'Drops of Light' skincare range which has just been released from The Body Shop. The range consists of four different products which are suitable for your daily skincare regime with the products being enriched with red algae and Vitamin C to help your skin appear brighter. The range consists of a 'Pure Clarifying Foam Wash', 'Pure Translucency Esscence Lotion', 'Pure Healthy Brightening Serum' and lastly a 'Pure Healthy Brightening Day Cream'. Of course you'd be more than welcome to use all four products as a new skincare regime, or if you're aware of the costs like I am, then why not just choose one?!

We're being spoilt for choice lately with bronzing products what with Benefit's new additions to their Hoola team and now NARS have introduced a liquid addition of their classic Laguna bronzer. I've had my eye on the Laguna bronzer for so long now, it's definitely time for me to make a purchase soon! You can create a quick bronzing effect over your makeup or even mix with makeup for an all over glow.

Barry M are keeping this brand new release a top secret but here's what I've found out so far! A brand new collection of nail paints will be released soon which are infused with coconut water and coconut oil - I think these sound really healthy for my nails and I'll definitely be picking them up!

I'm a massive fan of Seventeen products, with my favourite being the Stay Time foundation which is quite frankly the best full coverage foundation I've ever found - please don't discontinue it! With this in mind, I'd definitely like to try more of their products, especially this new Skin Wow concealer. It has a built in applicator which is what I find helpful as I'm rubbish at applying concealer and can of course be used in many different ways such as a general cover up or a quick highlight.

I'm yet to try a NYX product, but I certainly have plenty on my wishlist. Most recently are the gorgeous Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks. I'm a massive fan of lipsticks and never feel complete without my lips painted. The Lip Lingerie's give a matte finish and there are currently 12 different shades to choose from with shades ranging from classic nude to chocolate brown.

I've always been a massive fan of DKNY's fragrances, with my trusty favourite being the 'Be Delicious' perfume. DKNY have released an 'Electric Range' which consists of three different scents, each brightly packaged. 'Electric Bright Crush' - bergamot, blackcurrant and plum, 'Electric Citrus Pulse' - nectarin, passion fruit, mandarin and lastly 'Electric Loving Glow' - blackcurrant, grape and pineapple.

To celebrate Essie's anniversary, they're celebrating Vegas style with these gorgeously packaged nail polishes. There are a total of six iconic shades to choose from such as 'Cabana Boy' and 'Bikini With a Martini'. The bottles are limited edition designs so get ready to stock up on your favourite shades or try a brand new shade - well it is a celebration after all! Boots are also running an offer on these polishes of buy one and get one half price.

Last but not least, Origins have released a foaming clay cleansing mask to give your skin a detox at the end of the week. It's a mask and a cleanser in one - the creamy clay mask unclogs pores and then transforms into self activating foam to cleanse. I think this sounds really intriguing and would love to see how it in action!

Have you spotted anything you fancy? x

Stationery Wishlist

I've always been a sucker for stationery. No matter how many notebooks, pens and colouring books I own, there's always room for more (my mum will tell you differently but let's not worry about that!). As many bloggers do, I love a bit of online browsing, making a mental wishlist as I go along which usually ends up with me creating a wishlist to share with you. So for today's post, I wanted to share with you some pretty stationery items I've found over the past week or so. My favourite item of all has to be the 'Hot off the press' black hard-lined notebook from M&S - it really reminds me of the
pricier Kate Spade notebooks which I've always lusted after thanks to their sleek packaging and slogans.

There's also a few other Kate Spade dupes which I have found in store at M&S which are gorgeous and a total bargain. Browsing through Paperchase, I came across this lovely Peter Rabbit scrapbook which I love as it reminds me of my nephew! I also found a Thankful Journal in which each day you just need to take a few minutes and write about what made you happy that day. As you can see, I've added in a few extra bits and bobs that also caught my eye.

Have you bought any new stationery lately? x

My Blog: What's Going On?

I started my blog a whole three years ago so I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise that I'm now a little bit stuck. I wanted to write this post to reach out to other bloggers to see if anyone is feeling similar to me when it comes to their blog. I'm finding that I keep having an on and off relationship with my blog and I can't put my finger on it. Previously, I'd spend so much of my spare time reading posts, taking photos, buying new products, writing and promoting and I loved every second of it - but recently I've been feeling more lost. Comparison is the thief of joy as the old saying goes. However, it's something that seems unavoidable when it comes to blogging. I absolutely love reading my favourite blogs and I've made some online friendships which I really value and only wish we lived closer. Despite being a big blog reader and honestly being happy when I see everyone's posts doing well and followers growing, sometimes it can make me feel a little bit stuck. I will be entirely honest with you and admit that sometimes I look at other bloggers doing so well with gorgeous photos and I'm thinking "Why is my blog not that good? Why can't I take photos like that?".

I had around six months out of blogging last year because my heart wasn't in it at all and there was no point forcing it. Since then, I've written a few more posts that I am happy with but I still feel like I'm not quite getting it right - but I can't work out what the 'it' is! I feel like my blog doesn't seem to be moving anywhere right now, even though I know that's not why I started, sometimes it does knock my blogging confidence and make me wonder 'Well, what's the point?' I know it's probably just a little bit of a rocky patch and I'm hoping it will soon pass. If you have any tips for getting my mojo and blogging confidence back - please let me know! I'm definitely not giving up on my blog. I have put too much time, effort and passion into it to just let it all go. Since working full time, I think this has made a big difference as when I started my job last year that's actually when my blog came to a standstill. However, on the weekends and evenings that I have some spare time, I will dedicate that to my blog but only if I am happy to do so as I don't want it to become a chore - I just want to get the fun back into my posts like I used to. I have posts lined up ready to schedule and I just want to focus on what I enjoy writing and creating because my blog is not a job, but I find that I am putting pressure on myself to keep improving - which can definitely take away the fun and relaxation of blogging!

If you have any tips, or understand how I feel, please let me know as it would really help me! x

Getting A Good Night's Sleep.

Set The Mood.
Make your bedroom  look as cosy as can be. Think fairy lights, cushions and candles - anything that can make you feel relaxed and chilled out. I've spent a lot of time making my bedroom look exactly how I want it with my Cath Kidston duvet, Disney ornaments and various bits and bobs that represent my personality. I find this really helps me relax as I love the environment I'm in. Pop one of your favourite films on or catch up on the latest series you've been watching on Netflix and hop under the covers.

Have a bath & Pamper Yourself.
As you may have noticed, I'm a currently a big fan of having baths as I want to feel chilled out and be able to relax. I've got lots of gorgeous bubble baths to choose from to help me relax. I love reading in the bath, whether it's a book or a magazine and seeing as I'm in the bath already, I'll make a point of pampering myself. I'll leave a hair and face mask on for ten minutes before using  my trusty Sugar Crush body scrub. This always makes me feel so much more relaxed in the evenings.

Turning Off Twitter.
This is so hard for me to type as I am so terrible for switching off my laptop, going to bed and then straight onto my iPad to see if there's anything I've missed! I don't think it helps me 'switch off' so to speak so I'm trying my best to avoid doing this lately. See if you can give yourself a cut off time such as 10.30pm where you're not going to check the internet!

Reading books.
This is a funny one as some experts can tell you not to read before bed as it makes your mind more alert - but to be honest, I think it's all about finding what works best for you. For example, reading Twitter in bed may relax you anyway - so who am I to advise?! If you're not a big reader, why not try making a few notes before you go to sleep each night? You could write a to do list for the next day, taking the pressure of remembering off you and also write anything that's on your mind or making you unable to relax.

Colouring Books.
You've probably noticed by now that I'm a huge colouring book fan. I have around six books already and I've recently subscribed to Disney Art Therapy magazine, so each month I get a new magazine based on different films and characters. I find that really concentrating on my colouring and using intricate patterns really helps me to take my mind off other things, meaning I can sleep better later on.

Sleep Tight! x

My Summer Holiday Beauty Essentials

In just a few weeks, I will be jumping on an aeroplane to spend six days and nights in the Maldives, which as I'm sure you can guess, I'm very excited about! I will take lots of pictures and maybe do a photo diary for each day ready to post on my blog when I am home - please let me know if this is something you'd like to see. When it comes to packing my suitcase, before I even think about what clothes I am going to pack, I'm focusing first on what important beauty products I need to be taking and I thought I'd share them with you!

Hair - With my hair being highlighted blonde and often being exposed to the heat of my GHD's, I need to make sure I look after it as best as I can. For my shampoo, I've been loving using Garnier Delicate Oats shampoo which keeps my hair soft and in a sleeker condition. You can read my full review here. I've also been a massive John Frieda fan for many years, especially when it comes to their blonde hair care range. I tend to mix up using my shampoos throughout the week and I'll switch between my Garnier Delicate Oats and my John Frieda Sheer Blonde* as it gives a massive boost to my hair colour and I know my colour would fade a lot quicker than it does now without this shampoo. With the sun beaming down on my hair (hopefully!), I need to take extra care of it, so I'll use my John Frieda Beach Blonde Kelp Rescue Masque* which is a lovely treat as my ends do get dry quickly and this contains sea kelp and monoi oil to help take care of my hair. Before I blow dry and straighten my hair, I always use a heat protection spray too and I also need my Tangle Teezer with me to make sure I'm keeping the knots away - I can't be without it!. Of course, I'll need to take essentials such as black bobbles, Batiste dry shampoo and I'll add in a few pretty floral headbands too which I think are perfect for brightening up summer holiday outfits.

Beauty - I can't call myself a beauty blogger if I don't talk about my favourite beauty products, can I?! For my makeup, I'll pretty much only wear makeup in the evenings ready for a meal in the restaurant, but in the day when we go for a swim, I'm all about putting my hair up in a messy bun and keeping my face squeaky clean. So, when it comes to my makeup, I've been loving my Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation for a medium coverage. With my eye makeup, I tend to stick to the same look and products with my favourites being Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, L'Oreal False Lash Superstar mascara, Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner and my makeup certainly won't be finished until I've filled in my brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in the shade 'Chocolate'. I would honestly recommend it to anyone, my nana even asked me if I'd had my eyebrows tatooed on when I was wearing it! Lastly, I'll be sporting a bright red lip and I love my trusty matte MAC lipstick in the shade Lady Danger.

Aside from makeup, I'll be throwing in some more of my favourite products. For showering, I've been loving my Treaclemoon 'Those Lemonade Days'* shower gel and this is the perfect scent for a summer holiday thank to it's sharp scent of lemons. I'll be writing a full review of this soon, if you've got your eye on it! For perfume, I've found the perfect bargain fragrance. I'm currently using it everyday so hopefully I'll still have some left by the time I leave! It's an Avon perfume called 'Tahitian Holiday' which is a gorgeous scent of tropical coconut and white blossoms meaning it always reminds me of holidays and sunny beaches. It retails at a bargain price of £10.00 but is currently reduced to just £5.50. I really recommend this as a summer fragrance if you're looking for a new perfume to try on a budget. My lips tend to get dry very easily, so I'll be taking my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream which acts as a skin protectant. I'll use this as a lip balm throughout the day and before I go to sleep as it helps to remove any dry skin I have on my lips and makes them feel a lot smoother although I do find the scent slightly off putting.

What are your Summer beauty essentials? x

A Diet Coke Beauty Break

Diet Coke and eye liner have to be included on my list of favourite things. So I'm always really happy when I receive a Diet Coke treat in the post, even more so when eyeliner is involved! Today's post is just a quick one to make you aware of a great offer that's currently on in Boots stores at the moment. Now, I know us beauty bloggers pretty well, so I reckon that the chances you're going to be in a Boots store soon are pretty high! After all that shopping, I know I love to treat myself to a cold Diet Coke, and an even better excuse for me to do so is thanks to a new offer. Until Tuesday 29th March, when you pick up a 500ml bottle in store you can choose a L’Oréal Super Liner Blackbuster or L’Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim eyeliner for a total of only £5, saving a total of 40%.

Everyday, my makeup rotuine is never complete without a red lip and bold black eyeliner on my top eyelids. I have to be entirely honest and admit that I haven't had a chance to try out both eyeliners other than a very quick swipe over my original liner (of which I was impressed with!). The Super Liner Blockbuster Intense is a graphic, thick black eyeliner which has a felt tip marker pen, perfect for drawing a much bolder and darker look than your everyday liner may create. I love being able to get very close to my lashline when I draw on my eyeliner, so I'm excited to try the Super Liner Perfect Slim. This liner has a flexibile felt tip system which I think will really help if you're looking to create a full wing or just a quick flick. Due to the nib being slim, you'll be able to build up the thickness to your preference, meaning you're less likely to make mistakes.

The offer of an eyeliner and a bottle of Diet Coke for just £5.00 will last until Tuesday 29th March. Click here for more information on the offer.

Avon Chocolate & Orange Bubble Bath

Picture the scene - you're in a lovely hot bubble bath, you've got a magazine, your book, latest Netflix episode, a glass of your favourite drink, a little something to nibble on. It couldn't get much better than that right? Well, it actually could if you get your hands on Avon's brand new bubble bath - it's chocolate and orange scented. I never used to be a big fan of baths but now I find that after a long day it's the perfect way to hide for half an hour and forget everything, so I'm always on the hunt for new bath products and treats. The Chocolate & Orange bubble bath certainly hasn't disappointed me.

I'm always a little skeptical about some bubble baths as I believe some of them aren't actually very good at giving me any bubbles, but this Avon one is perfect. It fills the whole bathroom and the landing with the gorgeous scent of Chocolate Orange and it lathers up perfectly to create the right amount of bubbles. It's also a bargain to buy, I think I better stock up as this is bound to get popular! A 1 litre bottle is currently on sale for only £2.50 - trust me, you won't regret it! x
