Getting A Good Night's Sleep.

Set The Mood.
Make your bedroom  look as cosy as can be. Think fairy lights, cushions and candles - anything that can make you feel relaxed and chilled out. I've spent a lot of time making my bedroom look exactly how I want it with my Cath Kidston duvet, Disney ornaments and various bits and bobs that represent my personality. I find this really helps me relax as I love the environment I'm in. Pop one of your favourite films on or catch up on the latest series you've been watching on Netflix and hop under the covers.

Have a bath & Pamper Yourself.
As you may have noticed, I'm a currently a big fan of having baths as I want to feel chilled out and be able to relax. I've got lots of gorgeous bubble baths to choose from to help me relax. I love reading in the bath, whether it's a book or a magazine and seeing as I'm in the bath already, I'll make a point of pampering myself. I'll leave a hair and face mask on for ten minutes before using  my trusty Sugar Crush body scrub. This always makes me feel so much more relaxed in the evenings.

Turning Off Twitter.
This is so hard for me to type as I am so terrible for switching off my laptop, going to bed and then straight onto my iPad to see if there's anything I've missed! I don't think it helps me 'switch off' so to speak so I'm trying my best to avoid doing this lately. See if you can give yourself a cut off time such as 10.30pm where you're not going to check the internet!

Reading books.
This is a funny one as some experts can tell you not to read before bed as it makes your mind more alert - but to be honest, I think it's all about finding what works best for you. For example, reading Twitter in bed may relax you anyway - so who am I to advise?! If you're not a big reader, why not try making a few notes before you go to sleep each night? You could write a to do list for the next day, taking the pressure of remembering off you and also write anything that's on your mind or making you unable to relax.

Colouring Books.
You've probably noticed by now that I'm a huge colouring book fan. I have around six books already and I've recently subscribed to Disney Art Therapy magazine, so each month I get a new magazine based on different films and characters. I find that really concentrating on my colouring and using intricate patterns really helps me to take my mind off other things, meaning I can sleep better later on.

Sleep Tight! x

My Summer Holiday Beauty Essentials

In just a few weeks, I will be jumping on an aeroplane to spend six days and nights in the Maldives, which as I'm sure you can guess, I'm very excited about! I will take lots of pictures and maybe do a photo diary for each day ready to post on my blog when I am home - please let me know if this is something you'd like to see. When it comes to packing my suitcase, before I even think about what clothes I am going to pack, I'm focusing first on what important beauty products I need to be taking and I thought I'd share them with you!

Hair - With my hair being highlighted blonde and often being exposed to the heat of my GHD's, I need to make sure I look after it as best as I can. For my shampoo, I've been loving using Garnier Delicate Oats shampoo which keeps my hair soft and in a sleeker condition. You can read my full review here. I've also been a massive John Frieda fan for many years, especially when it comes to their blonde hair care range. I tend to mix up using my shampoos throughout the week and I'll switch between my Garnier Delicate Oats and my John Frieda Sheer Blonde* as it gives a massive boost to my hair colour and I know my colour would fade a lot quicker than it does now without this shampoo. With the sun beaming down on my hair (hopefully!), I need to take extra care of it, so I'll use my John Frieda Beach Blonde Kelp Rescue Masque* which is a lovely treat as my ends do get dry quickly and this contains sea kelp and monoi oil to help take care of my hair. Before I blow dry and straighten my hair, I always use a heat protection spray too and I also need my Tangle Teezer with me to make sure I'm keeping the knots away - I can't be without it!. Of course, I'll need to take essentials such as black bobbles, Batiste dry shampoo and I'll add in a few pretty floral headbands too which I think are perfect for brightening up summer holiday outfits.

Beauty - I can't call myself a beauty blogger if I don't talk about my favourite beauty products, can I?! For my makeup, I'll pretty much only wear makeup in the evenings ready for a meal in the restaurant, but in the day when we go for a swim, I'm all about putting my hair up in a messy bun and keeping my face squeaky clean. So, when it comes to my makeup, I've been loving my Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation for a medium coverage. With my eye makeup, I tend to stick to the same look and products with my favourites being Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, L'Oreal False Lash Superstar mascara, Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner and my makeup certainly won't be finished until I've filled in my brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in the shade 'Chocolate'. I would honestly recommend it to anyone, my nana even asked me if I'd had my eyebrows tatooed on when I was wearing it! Lastly, I'll be sporting a bright red lip and I love my trusty matte MAC lipstick in the shade Lady Danger.

Aside from makeup, I'll be throwing in some more of my favourite products. For showering, I've been loving my Treaclemoon 'Those Lemonade Days'* shower gel and this is the perfect scent for a summer holiday thank to it's sharp scent of lemons. I'll be writing a full review of this soon, if you've got your eye on it! For perfume, I've found the perfect bargain fragrance. I'm currently using it everyday so hopefully I'll still have some left by the time I leave! It's an Avon perfume called 'Tahitian Holiday' which is a gorgeous scent of tropical coconut and white blossoms meaning it always reminds me of holidays and sunny beaches. It retails at a bargain price of £10.00 but is currently reduced to just £5.50. I really recommend this as a summer fragrance if you're looking for a new perfume to try on a budget. My lips tend to get dry very easily, so I'll be taking my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream which acts as a skin protectant. I'll use this as a lip balm throughout the day and before I go to sleep as it helps to remove any dry skin I have on my lips and makes them feel a lot smoother although I do find the scent slightly off putting.

What are your Summer beauty essentials? x

A Diet Coke Beauty Break

Diet Coke and eye liner have to be included on my list of favourite things. So I'm always really happy when I receive a Diet Coke treat in the post, even more so when eyeliner is involved! Today's post is just a quick one to make you aware of a great offer that's currently on in Boots stores at the moment. Now, I know us beauty bloggers pretty well, so I reckon that the chances you're going to be in a Boots store soon are pretty high! After all that shopping, I know I love to treat myself to a cold Diet Coke, and an even better excuse for me to do so is thanks to a new offer. Until Tuesday 29th March, when you pick up a 500ml bottle in store you can choose a L’Oréal Super Liner Blackbuster or L’Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim eyeliner for a total of only £5, saving a total of 40%.

Everyday, my makeup rotuine is never complete without a red lip and bold black eyeliner on my top eyelids. I have to be entirely honest and admit that I haven't had a chance to try out both eyeliners other than a very quick swipe over my original liner (of which I was impressed with!). The Super Liner Blockbuster Intense is a graphic, thick black eyeliner which has a felt tip marker pen, perfect for drawing a much bolder and darker look than your everyday liner may create. I love being able to get very close to my lashline when I draw on my eyeliner, so I'm excited to try the Super Liner Perfect Slim. This liner has a flexibile felt tip system which I think will really help if you're looking to create a full wing or just a quick flick. Due to the nib being slim, you'll be able to build up the thickness to your preference, meaning you're less likely to make mistakes.

The offer of an eyeliner and a bottle of Diet Coke for just £5.00 will last until Tuesday 29th March. Click here for more information on the offer.

Avon Chocolate & Orange Bubble Bath

Picture the scene - you're in a lovely hot bubble bath, you've got a magazine, your book, latest Netflix episode, a glass of your favourite drink, a little something to nibble on. It couldn't get much better than that right? Well, it actually could if you get your hands on Avon's brand new bubble bath - it's chocolate and orange scented. I never used to be a big fan of baths but now I find that after a long day it's the perfect way to hide for half an hour and forget everything, so I'm always on the hunt for new bath products and treats. The Chocolate & Orange bubble bath certainly hasn't disappointed me.

I'm always a little skeptical about some bubble baths as I believe some of them aren't actually very good at giving me any bubbles, but this Avon one is perfect. It fills the whole bathroom and the landing with the gorgeous scent of Chocolate Orange and it lathers up perfectly to create the right amount of bubbles. It's also a bargain to buy, I think I better stock up as this is bound to get popular! A 1 litre bottle is currently on sale for only £2.50 - trust me, you won't regret it! x

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution Make-Up Removing Wipes Review

So before I start, I'll point out the elephant in the room. Lots of beauty bloggers wouldn't agree that face wipes are the best choice of skincare, but at the end of the day who can hand on heart say that after a busy day at work/uni/college you have the perfect skin routine without fail? Don't you just want to wipe your makeup off quickly before heading straight to bed every now and then?! Bioderma are a brand that I am aware of due to their popular micellar water however I haven't been lucky enough to try any of their products until now thanks to Escentual. The Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution Make-Up Removing Wipes (bit of a mouthful)  are a great way to get rid of your makeup and any impurities at the end of the day.

Usually I tend to use micellar water, followed by a cleanser and moisturiser for my nighttime skincare routine but on the nights where I want a quicker fix, these makeup removing wipes are perfect. I love the bright packaging too! The wipes are alcohol free and infused with micellar solution which cleanses the skin as you wipe away your makeup. My eyes get sensitive very easily and these are really gentle for wiping away my eyeliner and mascara, also without leaving me with panda eyes. When it comes to my foundation, I always wear full coverage so I will do a quick cleanse after using the wipes as whilst they pick up most of my makeup, I do feel I'll need a little bit of extra help to ensure my foundation has completely vanished.

Overall, I love using these wipes as a quick fix to remove my makeup as they are the only wipes that give me that fresh, tingly feeling you get once you've cleansed. I'll definitely incorporate them into my nightly routine, but I'll also be using other skincare too. The wipes are suitable for use twice daily and a packet of 25 wipes will cost £7.00 which is a bit out of my price range, but perfect for a treat to your skin.

Have you tried any Bioderma products? x

Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation Review

My mum is just as much of a beauty addict as I am, I guess that must be where I get it from. So when she came home from Boots last week armed with a Smashbox foundation which we both had never tried before, it's fair to say we had our hopes up. Now, this actually went two ways - my mum decided she wasn't keen on it enough and was about to sell it on ebay and then this is where I hopped in, tried it on, fell slightly in love with it and bought it off her instead. It certainly doesn't come cheap at £29.00 a bottle so as always I'll give my honest opinion.

First of all, my mum chose the shade 2.1 which luckily also suited me perfectly. There are a total of 12 shades to choose from with the palest starting at 1.1 and the darkest finishing at 4.2. Studio Skin is a foundation aimed at picture perfect skin with a full 15 hours wear, developed to stand even with intense conditions. The liquid formula applied like a dream (and I don't say that very often!). I use either my fingers or my Zoeva 104 buffer brush. The foundation has a pump applicator which I am pleased about as it's so annoying having to pour foundation out of glass bottles - Estee Lauder, I'm looking at you! Once applied, I promise that this foundation lasts perfectly throughout the day. I definitely noticed a massive difference in the longevity of my foundation when I wear this compared to my usual favourites.  The only problem I do have with the foundation is that it doesn't quite give me the complete full coverage that I love. It's described as being medium to full buildable coverage and whilst it's definitely buildable I don't feel it quite reaches that 'full coverage stage'. If you have relatively clear skin and don't need a maximum amount of coverage, this is the most perfect foundation I can recommend to you. I'll continue to use it as I do love it, but I mix in a little bit of 17's Stay Time to make sure I'm completely confident with my look.

Crayola 'Elegant Escapes' Colouring Book & Stationary.

One of my favourite ways to relax is to spend time with an intricate colouring book, some fine liner pens and forget about everything, so when Crayola asked if I would like to review their brand new colouring range for adults, I accepted straight away! When I think of Crayola, I think back to that good old PC game - does anyone remember Crayola Art Studio?! Google it and you may find yourself with a load of 90's memories. Crayola are celebrating their 100th anniversary with the brand new release of their 'Elegant Escapes' colouring book - their first ever book aimed at adults, as well as additional stationary items.

The package I received contained everything I needed for a perfect relaxing evening (Ok, I'll provide the chocolate). Light a Clean Cotton candle, drink chamomile tea and get colouring - sounds peaceful doesn't it? The Elegant Escape book contains a total of 80 different patterns to colour ranging from animals and hearts as well as floral and mosaic patterns. The paper is perfect quality and whilst I did find that the fine liner pens seeped through the page very slightly, it didn't matter as the pages are not double sided. Each pattern is different from the next and I love how no pages are similar as I'll be able to spend hours working on different colours and varieties. Alongside the book, I also received a packet of 50 vibrant coloured pencils, meaning there's lots of different shades for me to choose from including my childhood favourite Magenta. I currently only have a few pencils, so this now means I can be a lot more varying with what I use. I tend to mostly use fine liners with my colouring as I prefer the bolder look that it gives, so I enjoyed using these 12 fine liner markers with a width of 1.0mm which meant I could access smaller areas easily.

New In: Beauty - March Edition

It's official, I've found my favourite ever blog post to write. As you know, I love beauty products and if you're reading this, then chances are quite high that you love them just as much as I do. Which is why I've really been enjoying putting together today's post and I want to make this a monthly edition, seeing as lots of pretty new products keep popping up.

New Benefit Hoola Collection & Cheekathon.
This is what I am most excited for this month! Benefit are back with three new editions to their Hoola bronzing range. First up is the 'Dew The Hoola' which is a soft matte liquid bronzer perfect for adding a quick glow to your makeup routine.  This will retail at £22.50. There's also a Hoola Zero Tanlines Body Body Bronzer which looks and sounds fantastic. I'm a massive fake tan lover and always love to try new ranges, so I've got my eye on this non-sticky body bronzer. I haven't included this as I ran out of space but Benefit will also release a Hoola Bronzing & Contouring Brush to help apply any bronzer/blush with ease. All products will be released this Friday 11th March. Aside from Hoola, there's also the brand new Dandelion Shy Beam and a stunning 'Cheekathon' set which will retail at £44.50 but it's packaged beautifully and contains five full size bronzers and a brush.

I'm pretty obsessed with mascaras and Barry M's latest edition is called 'That's How I Roll' (love the name!). The pretty purple packaging caught my eye and it has a specially designed curved brush to get lovely curled black lashes without the clumps.

Lancome's famous Juicy lipgloss has had a pairing with nourishing oils with a unique new cushion applicator which feels soft to the touch, allowing the gloss to melt onto your lips. The more you shake, the stronger the colour will appear. The Juicy Shaker has a range of 13 fabulous shades to choose from.

March is appearing to be the perfect month for bronzing products, now that sunny days may finally be on their way. I love the stunning packing of this 'Royal Oil' body bronzer which contains Mangosteen oil and Coconut Oil - I bet it smells gorgeous too, It's a nourishing body oil which will give you skin a sun kissed and warm glow. It appears to be pretty versatile and Too Faced also suggest using a small amount on the ends of your hair for a subtle shimmer on the beach and also gives extra protection if you're swimming.

Michael Kors will release a brand new Coral perfume, based on the original fragrance released in 2000. The perfume is described as being bright, summery, floral and flirty which sounds just like my perfect scent.

If you loved the original Daisy Dream just like I did, you'll be pleased to meet the brand new Blush edition. Is it so bad that I'd buy this for the bottle alone?! The Blush edition is filled with notes of violet leaves, rose and lily of the valley.

Last but not least, YSL have released their classic Touche Eclat in three new slogan editions. With it's sleek black and gold packaging, you can choose from three quotes. 'All lights on me', 'No need to sleep' and 'I'm not a morning person' - can you guess which one relates best to me?!

Do any of these new products catch your eye? x

My Favourite Youtubers & Bloggers

Today I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite bloggers and Youtubers. It can be hard to squeeze so many fabulous people into just one post, especially when I've only got a few in here. I've been reading blogs for a few years now and whilst I love finding new bloggers, I also enjoy going back to my old time favourites. When it comes to beauty blogs, I've chosen the following bloggers because they're constantly updating with fresh content, gorgeous photos and I trust their opinions on upcoming products and reviews. As you may know, I'm a big lover of anything Disney so I always get excited when I find bloggers who love Disney just as much or maybe even more than I do. I really recommend The Purple Pumpkin blog if you're planning a trip to Orlando or Paris as Michelle has posted hundreds of tips, reviews, free printables - I honestly got lost on this blog for hours! I've only recently got into watching YouTube videos and I only have a few channels that I subscribe to. I've shared with you my all time favourites, I am loving watching makeup tutorials, disney and homeware hauls, vlogs and anything else that I manage to find!

Blogging: A Few Words & A New Challenge

I'm setting myself a rather large challenge for myself and my blog this month. I was reading one of my favourite blogs The Sunday Girl and Adrienne very kindly shared a post with 31 ideas for blog posts. I was so pleased to read this and find myself thinking 'Ooh I can do that one', so I've decided to turn it into what could possibly/hopefully be a post each day throughout March. If there are days where I can't seem to get my head round the topic or I'm not quite in the mood for it, I have got some beauty posts lined up that I need to pop up too, so I may mix things up or even miss a day - there's no need to put any pressure on myself. For the full 31 ideas, you can view the original post here.

Let's talk about blogging - what made you start, where are you now and how do you see us all progressing. Are you still the same blogger you were when you began?

What made you start? When I started blogging, I didn't expect more than five people to even stumble upon it unexpectedly before clicking off in a rush. Without bragging, I do feel I have come far, I have had some lovely opportunities and it is so good to meet and chat to other bloggers who have the same interests as me. I found my first ever favourite blog Victoria's Vintage a few years ago and spent hours poring over her posts and eventually finding myself thinking 'I think I can do this too'. After a push from my mum and my sister, who still read here now, I finally found the courage to start and I'm so glad I did. I discovered a whole new world of fellow bloggers who loved makeup just like I did and felt like I belonged in the community.

Where am I now? I'm working to improve my blog. I've had a big old blogging break for over six months and in all honesty, I didn't miss it at all. I wasn't interested in reading blogs and I certainly wasn't interested in writing my own. For a while I tried to force myself to blog as I've spent so much time, effort and hard work into it that it felt such a shame to just let it all go to waste. If you're currently feeling like this, try not to worry as I've bounced back with a vengeance. I've taken a good look at my blog, had a lovely new blog design to help give me that little push I needed and I'm really enjoying making posts again. I've found that looking through old posts I've written has really helped me for ideas and made me remember why I loved it so much - and now I'm back to that good old feeling again. I'm not interested in getting lots of new followers, although I'd be lieing if I said I wouldn't welcome them! I am focusing now on myself, improving my content and photography and making sure that you enjoy my posts.

How do you see us all progessing?  Blogging is my hobby. It is not my job and never will be as I'm nowhere near big enough - but as cheesy as this sounds, I'm proud of any blogger. It takes up so much more time than people realise - the emails, promoting posts, chats, taking photos, researching and then finally writing only to find that sometimes, hardly anybody's reading. To keep on working at it like we do means we should all be proud of ourselves. I guess there's a lot of us beauty bloggers around but we're all different and as far as I'm concerned, there's room for us all and we can still budge up and let some more in too. Our blogs are our own and even though we may post reviews of the same products sometimes, we're all different in our own ways. I can see lots of us carrying on, working with our favourite brands and growing our readership - we just have to stay positive and if one day you can't stand the thought of blogging - just don't. It will come back. I've made lots of blogging friends over my three years (!) of writing this blog and I love seeing that they still continue to grow.

Are you still the same blogger you were when you began? Absolutely. If anything, I've lost some of the blogger that I was. That's what I am trying to claim back as I work more on my posts. My first posts began talking about bargains, freebies, things I'd been buying, makeup - just general things that still do interest me. I also wrote some of my favourite posts that I look back and feel proud of because lots of you enjoyed them and related to them such as 'Are you a secret blogger' and 'How to deal with blogger envy'. I'd love to get back to writing posts like this again. I believe I'm the same blogger as whilst I have been lucky enough to have wonderful opportunites, I'm not focused on making this a career. I'm here to enjoy it, reap any possible benefits and make friends along the way.

P.S - Happy St David's Day x
