Crayola 'Elegant Escapes' Colouring Book & Stationary.

One of my favourite ways to relax is to spend time with an intricate colouring book, some fine liner pens and forget about everything, so when Crayola asked if I would like to review their brand new colouring range for adults, I accepted straight away! When I think of Crayola, I think back to that good old PC game - does anyone remember Crayola Art Studio?! Google it and you may find yourself with a load of 90's memories. Crayola are celebrating their 100th anniversary with the brand new release of their 'Elegant Escapes' colouring book - their first ever book aimed at adults, as well as additional stationary items.

The package I received contained everything I needed for a perfect relaxing evening (Ok, I'll provide the chocolate). Light a Clean Cotton candle, drink chamomile tea and get colouring - sounds peaceful doesn't it? The Elegant Escape book contains a total of 80 different patterns to colour ranging from animals and hearts as well as floral and mosaic patterns. The paper is perfect quality and whilst I did find that the fine liner pens seeped through the page very slightly, it didn't matter as the pages are not double sided. Each pattern is different from the next and I love how no pages are similar as I'll be able to spend hours working on different colours and varieties. Alongside the book, I also received a packet of 50 vibrant coloured pencils, meaning there's lots of different shades for me to choose from including my childhood favourite Magenta. I currently only have a few pencils, so this now means I can be a lot more varying with what I use. I tend to mostly use fine liners with my colouring as I prefer the bolder look that it gives, so I enjoyed using these 12 fine liner markers with a width of 1.0mm which meant I could access smaller areas easily.

  1. I love colouring but I find that old school crayola pencils are a bit waxy which means they transfer, so I hope that these fare a little better! How gorgeous are the books, though?
