Cashback apps have loads of free offers that run at all top range supermarkets, including ASDA, Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s.

You might be wondering…

How complicated can these apps be? Are they even worth using just because you want to save a couple of pounds?

The answer is definitely YES!

Cashback apps are pretty straightforward and with continued use could help make some savings here and there – and a chance to try out new foods for free.

To get started:
– Download CheckoutSmart and Shopmium
– Check out the available offers – some will offer savings while others freebies
– Go to any participating store and buy the product
– Scan the barcode on the product and take a picture of the receipt
– And your money will be refunded

And another thing, when signing up to Shopmium, you could earn yourself a Free Jar Of Nutella by using the sign-up code. Sweet, right?

Get free food through online shopping

If you are more into online shopping than sweeping through a supermarket, then you are in luck.

Stores like Sainsbury’s and Tesco often run offers where shoppers use promotional codes to try out new products for free.

Add a product you like to your cart and continue shopping; when checking out, enter the provided promo code.

The cost of the promo product will be deducted from the overall cost, making it a freebie!

Foods that have recently been offered as freebies include:
– Yeo Valley Yogurt
– Fajita Seasoning Kit
– Nestle Ice Cream
– Flora Spread
– Primula Cheese Spread
– Walkers Sunbites

It is always worth checking out all the available free online supermarket offers to see what’s on offer before you start shopping. Some of the deals being offered could prove worthy enough for you to stay in and order what you want from the comfort of your home.

Keep an Eye Out For Try Me food packets

Some companies will sometimes run cashback offers for some of their products.

So, the next time you are out grocery shopping, look out for food packages with a Try Me Free Sticker. Foods with these stickers basically provide you a way to claim a cashback, allowing you to try out the product free of charge.

Most companies do this to give customers an incentive to try out the product in the hopes that you’ll like it and will consider purchasing it again.

With this option, you get the chance to try out different foods for free. The most recent offers we came across include:
– Rana Filled Pasta
– The Laughing Cow Spreadable Cheese
– Yushoi Snack Pack
– Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice
– FUEL 10K Porridge Pot

Food companies tend to run these campaigns when introducing new products to the market allowing customers to try out the products for free first. So, the next time you are at your local supermarket, keep an eye out for Try Me For Free Products.

Sign Up For Free Food Giveaways

Another way food companies like to spread the word about a new product line is by offering free giveaways.

Companies like Lee Kum Kee, Special K, Green & Black’s, Cadbury’s and many others have run such offers in the past. However, most of them normally expire pretty fast. So if you come across a free giveaway option, then apply for it as soon as possible.

Use Coupons To Save And Get Free Food

It is also worth keeping an eye out for coupons when doing your weekly shopping.

Coupons are a great way to reduce food bills at home while still enjoying the meals you love.

Most coupons can be found online (simply find one and download it) and can also be offered by the company. Here is a look at some of the most recent coupons we have come across in the recent past:
– Princes Tinned Tuna and Mackerel
– Princes Tinned Peach, Mandarins and Mango
– Almond Breeze Nutri+ Milk
– John West Tuna Toppers (50p off)
– Robinsons Fruit Squash (£1 off)
– Flora ProActive Spread (£1 off)
– Oppo Ice Cream (£2 off voucher)
Do not be afraid of using coupons – they are a great way of saving money and trying out new things.

Look Out For Reduced Items and Offers

One habit I developed during my university days, and which has not worn off yet, is the inability to go into any supermarket without first perusing the reduced sticker section.

Every so often, you will find some amazing reductions, be it for things you can use on a daily basis or things that you can freeze and use later.

If you are a meat-eater, then you will be glad to know that you can come across meat items in this section too. This should work out well for you as you can freeze the meat then defrost it when you want. Meat is generally expensive, so this is one of the best ways to lower your food bill.

It is advisable that you only use these ‘offers’ if they suit your needs.

We have all been at a point where we were tempted by offers like “Buy One Get One Free”, and who could say no to such offers?

If you are interested in using a product or use it often and it is on offer, then such an option would offer great savings – so consider going for it.

A lot of the time, however, people give in to this enticement and end up buying products they do not use or even like.

Any offer is only good if it’s of use to you.

Food companies may use this tactic to get you to spend your money when you really do not need to.

It is, therefore, vital to ask yourself this question when shopping – do I need this? If you manage to overcome the temptation to buy things you do not need, you will see your overall food expenditure reduce considerably.

Reduce Leftovers

One of the best ways to reduce your food bill is to reduce the amount of food you buy.

If you notice that you and your family tend to leave food on your plates after a meal, then it’s worth assessing the amount of food that you buy.

One way to start the process is by serving smaller portions and checking to see if anyone goes for a second round. You will be left with fresh food, which you can freeze and microwave later.

Use Restaurant Vouchers When Eating Out

It is nice to treat yourself to a meal out every once in a while, but there is no need to break the bank in order to do this.

Restaurants like Zizzi, Chimichanga, Prezzo, Pizza Express, ASK Italian and more often run offers to help customers save some money while still enjoying a delicious meal.

You can score yourself tons of fantastic deals at different restaurants nationwide. Be it a 2 for 1 on courses, some freebie drink or money-off your bill, it is advisable that you always check to see what these options have to offer.

Replace Branded Food Products With Supermarket Branded Products

This tip is not that new to supermarket savvies; nevertheless, it is still worth trying if you have never done this before.

Supermarket-owned brand products are, most of the time, just as good as exclusive branded products. What people do not know is that they are simply paying for a brand’s name, so unless you cannot have anything else apart from Yorkshire Tea, then why not try out a much cheaper option?

By swapping a couple of products for the much cheaper own brand, you should find yourself saving up a lot. This should help lower your overall food expenses.

Make The Most Of Birthday Freebies

When it is your birthday, do not think about getting any older – however, you should think about the different birthday freebies you can enjoy.

There are tons of free offers available to birthday boys and girls, and while they may not help lower your everyday food expenditure, they still are a nice treat.

You could get a get a free Krispy Kreme doughnut, a free birthday main at Frankie & Benny’s, a free Subway cookie, and a free burrito at Barburrito.

How to Get £60 an Hour While Getting Fit

Dog walking is a great way to make money on the side and stay fit at the same time. Especially in cities, there is a lot of demand for dog walking services and it is very paid.

Some even quit their day job to set up a full-time dog walking business.

Dog Walking is becoming the most popular way to make money in the UK, which is not surprising.

You make good money (-15 10-15 per dog per hour or part of an hour)

This is a fantastic exercise

It is very flexible

Great way to meet a new partner (I said). Imagine – you make money, you meet the love of your life.

People, especially in London and the South, are willing to pay $ 10-15 per dog, an hour or a fraction per hour. So you can earn £ 60 an hour if you walk four at a time! Of course, there are other aspects to this job, so before you immerse yourself in the dog walking business you need to know what the potential costs and disadvantages are.

Here are all the best and easy ways to get cash by walking a dog.

What Is Involved in Dog Walking?

Dog walking is really as simple as that. You arrange to pick up the animals, take them for a walk and then return home. For each dog you have to do it twice a day, if a good walk is at least half an hour – i.e. an hour.

Dog walkers are charged per dog, per hour. Rates range from about -15 10-15 per dog, per hour (or in some cases half an hour). If you can take multiple dogs at once, that means you can earn a significant amount per day.

However, be careful not to take too many dogs to a walking spot to start with you. If you have never done this type of work before, it is best to start with one dog, but initially three or four dogs can deal with them depending on size, speed and level of obedience.

Then, when you get to know their characters, you can organize them into groups together. There are currently no legal limits on how many dogs you can take out at one time, but local councils say dog walkers have more animals out there than they can deal with at any given time.

Dog Walking – Earn £ 60 an Hour When Appropriate Key Issues:

Dogs do not run away and come back – dangerous and bad for business!

They could not be cleaned after all – illegal and health risk.

National Guidelines Six is the maximum number of dogs that can be tackled by hikers at a time. However, some local councils have introduced their own rules, for example, in North Lincolnshire, a maximum of four dogs at a time.

Make sure you know and follow the rules in your area or you may be fined. Your local council can answer any questions you may have, so call them before you begin.

It is also important to realize that this work is not always ‘walking in the park’! You may be given dogs to treat those who are too sick to go out, which can lead to emergency runs and difficult conversations with owners.

When they do not come home, or you ignore the dogs, you have to deal with the owners who leave you to feed them and deal with the diseases that may be causing them. If you have a lot of dogs to walk to every day, you may spend extra hours dealing with the problem.

Getting a Job as a Dog Walker:

First, you need to decide if you want to work for a company or go it alone. Both methods have their advantages. The chances of getting an initial job are high if you are registered with an agency, but they may charge you to take you to the books and reduce your income.

Try searching for ‘dog walking jobs’ to see the offer, or you can sign up at the National Company Animal Aunts. Individuals will sometimes look for dog walkers on work boards like Gum tree.

A good name is often important for getting a job, so if you want to keep track of the profession, sign up with the National Association of Registered Pet Sitters. However, be warned that membership will not come cheap, so it is not necessary if you are looking for odd jobs.

If you choose to be self-employed, you need to think about how you can improve your dog walking business. Also remember that you have to register as a self-employed person with HMRC and pay your taxes every year.

Posting an ad on a pet, veterinary surgeon or Gum tree is a great first step, or why not do some test dog walking sessions with friends? Tell them to spread?

If you are confident, talk to those who walk their dogs in the park. Again, they will trust you more if you already treat your own dog.

Another good starting point for your dog walking is printing business cards. Sign in to Vista Print, where they offer 100 packages for around 10! You can ask local cafes and other small businesses if you can leave them for customers to see or try to post through letterboxes.

Thousands of dog owners a month come to websites looking for help to keep their dogs running – be it daily walking, boarding a dog or regular sitting. Once you get live, you can provide quotes with your own prices to hundreds of dog owners per week.

A regular daily walk will allow you to earn £ 200 a dog per month, and it is a great way to fit in when making money by caring for someone’s furry friend. Do your research and then immerse yourself!

What is the Business Cost of Walking a Dog?

The running costs of a dog walking business should not involve much in setting up or operating the costs of running this type of business.

It helps to have a car to reach people, so petrol can be a factor.

Also, pooper-scoopers and boobs bags and extra collars or leashes for the original roast should be ready for you (you can ask the owner if you have a spare package before purchasing yours).

You may also want to get gloves and / or anti-bacterial gel to keep your hands hygienic.

Besides, the biggest cost would be insurance. You should talk first to find out what insurance the dog owner already has.

Consider pet business insurance as a whole package offering; Public Responsibility – If the dog runs down the road and causes a pile or bites someone. Care, Guard and Control Card – Take care of the pet if it is injured while in your care; and the main replacement card – if you lose your boss’ keys, they will pay to change the locks.

The market rate for insurance starts at around 70 per year, however this price will be for the most basic coverage. Evaluate your needs and shop for the best deal for you.

Use our public liability insurance comparison to find the right card for you.

Offer a Deal Which Is Unbeatable:

In times of severe economic like this, you have to sweeten the deal for customers to fight the competition. Providing both dog walking and pet mindset services together can be very beneficial to you and increase the level of your desire.

Additional services you can provide include pet food, washing pet clothes and bedding, and watering indoor and garden plants. Likewise, until the money is arranged in advance with the owner, a patient will be happy to see the patient coming with their pet. This is a great way to earn extra money on top of your dog walking activities.

In the middle of the week you can offer regular veterinary visits for annual vaccinations, flea and worm treatments. These times are less busy, giving less stress to the pets involved. It is also an easy service to provide too busy customers working during the week!

You can give a pet B&B to carry a dog or small pet like a hamster, give you a home for a few days, a full-time company for a finishing touches, or go for a short time, especially with cats. It is best to do this only if you have experience in full-time pet care. Check out our article here on how to set up a pet sitting function.

Remember, it is important to sell yourself as a service that removes stress and annoys the customer. Lots of people have dogs, but are very busy walking and taking care of themselves.

Always be realistic, but market yourself as a time-saving asset. Also remember to communicate your enthusiasm for dogs to build confidence.

Important: Laws That Affect You:

Under Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 if you lose control of a dog in your care it is your legal responsibility, not the owner’s responsibility.

Under the Dogs (Livestock Protection) Act 1953 and the Animals Act 1971, a dog should not cause distress to livestock on farmland. It is actually legal to shoot a dog if farmers believe it poses a significant threat to their livestock. A dog can be damaged to escape livestock because sheep and cows may break their legs when trying to run.

At that point the person responsible for the dog will be blamed, not the owner. Therefore, be careful when walking in depressions or fields, especially around the lamb in the spring.

When a dog does its business in a public place (e.g. sidewalks, parks, playgrounds, public beaches, etc.) you must legally clean it and dispose of it properly. If you do not, you may be fined £ 50- 80 on the spot.

Your local council can give away biodegradable garbage bags for free, ask the Department of Environmental Health. Check the rules of your local park, which are usually posted at the entrance. It may be helpful to have the details of your nearest dog warden, so contact your local council for details.

In case of illness or accidents you will need veterinary details for each of your customers. You do not need any training for this job, but you may want to consider a first aid course. Take a look at the local online.

Find extra work to sign a contract with any new clients to protect you from liabilities.

The best idea is a dog walking approval form. In it, you can add clauses such as who is responsible for the cost of emergency treatment while the dog is in your care.

This includes the owner’s agreement that the dog will have an annual vaccination and a regular worm. This will stop the spread of the disease to other dogs in your care.

You can also add a section about your Govt-19 protocol. This includes keeping only the lead you use, providing hand cleaning if you need to enter their home, and minimizing contact.

You should talk to a lawyer for advice on drawing up the approval form and the conditions you need to include.

Do You Need Boiler Insurance?

Boiler insurance is one of the things you will always want to look around for, but it can never really be solved. But once your boiler breaks down, in the freezing cold, you want to keep it. Boiler repair services are not only cheap, but also cost a lot for boiler insurance. Is it worth it, or is it just a breeze?

Why The Insurance Is Known As Boiler?

British Gas Statistics Every year, on average one in 14 boilers fails or produces an error. At best, it’s inconvenient; Bad, dangerous.

Thousands of elderly people are hospitalized every year due to the cold, and if a boiler breaks down, parents of young children may struggle to cope. For everyone else, this is a real nuisance (hello to a frost house and snow-cold shower) and worth avoiding as much as possible.

People take out boiler insurance policies in the hope that they will have quick, cheap access to a heating engineer in the event of a bad event. But is it really worth it and are there alternatives?

Do You Really Need to Have Boiler Cover?

Ask yourself these questions to find out if you need a boiler cover, if so, what type:

Is your boiler new? If it has been installed within the last 12 months, it must still be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. You must be provided with the relevant letters during installation, so check it out. Also, under the Goods Sales Act 1979, anything you buy must be of ‘satisfactory quality’ and ‘fit for purpose’. It is the retailer’s responsibility to prove that within the first six months of purchasing an item, it has been ‘sold for the purpose’. If they can’t prove it they will have to change it – you may need an engineer’s report to show that it was wrong in the beginning.

Are you already on your home insurance? Some insurers will automatically cover boiler breakdowns so you can already be protected. Don’t waste money if you don’t need extra insurance.

Do you personally need the cover? If you are only renting, it is the responsibility of your landlord to take out the boiler insurance and repair it if it breaks.

Is your boiler too old? Most boiler schemes exclude samples over 15 years of age, and any samples over 7 years of age may need to be inspected. Check to see if your particular brand is covered as some older products are sometimes excluded.

Should you go for the ‘boiler only’ or ‘full heating system’ cover? Cheap boiler insurance policies only cover the cost of the boiler and controls, but if you want to get a little extra, you can ensure the safety of your entire heating system, including radiators and pipes. Whether or not you get this type of card depends on how much you think these will cost and how much of an issue they will be if you do.

What does the insurer consider an emergency? Some insurance providers do not think the lack of hot water is an emergency, while others will rush to repair your boiler during the winter months. If you go for a policy, make sure you have opinions like yours about what an emergency is.

What is their claim period? Most new projects now have no claim period to prevent people from registering on the day the boiler breaks down and then stop claiming ownership. Any claim period can last up to 30 days, so this is another reason to sign up soon (before winter really starts.

Have you been shopping around? As with most types of insurance, there is great variation in the prices and features of boiler insurance. Keep in mind that cheap is not always happy when it comes to insurance, so check out what the policies cover and go to companies you know that are as reliable as possible.

Easy Ways to Compare Boiler Insurance Policies:

Go to our boiler insurance comparison (also known as ‘heating insurance’) to find the best policy for you.

There are a variety of projects.

The most common is the free annual boiler service worth 75, which helps your boiler run safely and efficiently.

If yours is economically unrepairable, most will contribute to the price of the new boiler.

Make sure you get a policy that includes what you need. For example, in some cases the boiler can be replaced only if it is under a certain age. On top of that you get a partial replacement and you have to pay the rest. Others will evaluate on a ‘case-by-case’ basis.

Add Boiler Covers to Your Home Insurance:

Some providers will add a boiler card to your home insurance for an additional fee, which may be less than buying a separate policy.

Again, if you go for boiler inclusion in your home insurance policy, make sure it is the policy you need. Any of them will only cover boilers with an annual service check, which can cost up to 75. So, if you have not already done this, or you cannot find a good deal, you may be even better off with a boiler maintenance policy that includes a free annual service check.

Customer Service of Boiler Insurance:

When it comes to boiler maintenance, customer service is paramount. Where are our friends? Conducted a survey on customer satisfaction and Worcester topped the list with 70% marks. British Case 55% for customer service, Home serve just 46%.

Online, every boiler maintenance policy seems to receive glowing reviews and negative reports from customers. To find out what other customers think about the policy you have chosen, go to

Self-insuring Your Boiler:

As you know, we think it is better to ‘self-insure’ where possible than to pay the insurance companies (you can see which storage pots you should keep from this article). This means setting up a special savings account that you can sink into only if you have repairs to pay. The question is, how much should you put it in, and how much is it possible to repair your boiler?

The chance of your boiler breaking down depends on many factors, mainly its age and repair condition. When considering the risks of self-insurance, ask yourself the following questions:

Is my boiler less than seven years old?

Is it in repair (was it checked by a Gorky registered engineer, did they mention anything that needs to be replaced soon?)

If it breaks, do I know the reputable, trusted local engineer I can call? What will they charge me?

In case of emergency, can I buy a new boiler?

If you say yes to all of these questions, then self-insurance may be the way forward. You keep a certain amount in a bank account every month and use this to cover up any repairs. For example, if you decide to allocate $ 16 a month, you will have an annual kitty of £ 192, which currently costs an average of திக 185 to repair a boiler.

If your boiler does not break, you should keep the money.

If your boiler is on its last legs, it’s time to set aside at least 1,000 to replace it (if you have not already). Try to save money before you change it. Being without a boiler for several weeks, especially in winter, is not a fun scene!

P.S Help for Home-call Customers:

When we first started this section we included Home-call’s boiler service. However, recently they went to the bust and pushed a lot of customers. Those who have registered for their service until December 3, 2010 are still covered by Brit Insurance, but no one who joined after that date is protected. However, Home-Serve has informed us that any Home-Call customers who have Home-Call + can have Home1 and ‘Home-Serve Home Emergency Cover’ for one year.

June Spending Ban – Can I do it?

Who am I and what have you done with the real me?! The words ‘spending ban’ and I do not go hand in hand, I’m forever spending money on more beauty products that I don’t need, buying things in the sale purely because they are in the sale and what not. I think now has come to the point where it’s time to slow it all down and use what I’ve got. Throughout January, I made a list of what I bought, when and how much it cost. I look back at it now and actually think I did better than previous months, but now is the time to calm it down and save the money instead. It gets to a point where I have ordered things, completely forgotten I’d bought it and put it to the side for now anyway! As I am going to Disney  in May, it’s time to keep more money to be able to enjoy myself when I am there and also to add to my savings.
I like to think I’m being sneaky and oh so clever seeing as there are only 28 days in February obviously meaning it’s less than a usual month! I will have some rules and that’s to spend money on things that I do need. I need petrol in my car and food in my tummy, but that is hopefully as far as its going to go this month. I don’t need any new clothes, makeup or skincare regardless or whether its a bargain as I know I have plenty. The only makeup I will allow myself to buy is a new eyeliner or foundation if it runs out as I have enough of everything else. Yesterday was a real test for me as I went shopping with a friend and didn’t spend a single penny! Ok, we had a meal in Pizza Hut (it was so delicious) but I had to feed myself didn’t I?! I’m hoping I can actually stick to this plan or I’m going to look a right plonker. If you have previously done a spending ban, please let me know if you have any tips as I’d love to hear them.
Wish me luck! Would you like to see updates of how I’m getting on? x

Childhood Memories

I was browsing through ebay recently and came across Jacqueline Wilson books, when a light popped on inside my little brain and I thought I would write a ‘Childhood Memories’ post. There are so many things that bring back good memories for me, so I thought we could take a trip down memory lane and see if we have any memories in common! First up is The Sims. Not the Sims 2 or 3,but it all began with the original Sims years ago. I always used to spend time with my sister playing the game on my nanas computer and we would spend hours on it. Remember how all the Sims used to live in one village? I used to love doing the money cheat and moving to the massive mansion in the corner! The background music always used to be blasting, the Sims practically all looked the same, it was SO hard to get a Sim to accept a marriage proposal and it was so hard trying to make friends too just to get a promotion! Looking back, it’s crazy to see how much the game has evolved as the Sims 4 will be out this year! If you were a huge Sims geek like I was (and still am) have a look at this fan page and the music is guaranteed to make you want to start playing!
Next up is Jacqueline Wilson books. My claim to fame is I once met her years ago at a book signing and she signed my ‘Midnight’ book. Still to this day, I am in awe of her writing and how she manages to reach out to everyday life situations such as divorce, adoption and mental illness and at the same time keeps every book as enjoyable and mesmerising. I think I have owned practically every single book she has written and have read each one time and time again, they just don’t get old to me. Nick Sharatt’s illustrations in each book always appeared and were a classic addition to her books. I also loved it when her books turned into TV shows, Tracy Beaker became a huge success and is still going to this day. I think my all time favourite book would be ‘Sleepovers’. I remember reading this book around six times (I’m not joking).
Other major memories for me are the TV shows I used to love on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. (Having the Disney channel was an occasional treat!) My whole childhood I grew up watching Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in Two of a Kind, followed by endless films, my favourite being Passport to Paris. I also used to love That’s So Raven (such a good role model) and Sabrina The Teenage Witch I could have spent hours watching those shows. I also can’t not mention Arthur, I was his biggest fan. I even used to print out pictures of him and his pals and colour them in!
What are your favourite childhood memories?

How To Get Loads Of Freebies

If you’re like most people, you’re probably wondering how you can get freebies and more freebies. Well, the best way to get a bunch of freebies the size of Mt. Everest is to spend websites that are dedicated to giving away free stuff on the Internet.

Or you could also sign up with websites that find all the free offers found on the Internet and publish them on their website. We’re talking about websites like Free Stuff World like others. These websites don’t just offer free stuff, they also offer free samples, competitions and so much more. You should search for these websites and check out the homepage for all the newest stuff that is free.

If there’s a freebie you like, apply to receive. Get all of the complimentary stuff and have them delivered to your own door. If you’re like more people, you’re probably wondering, “Why do businesses like to give away free stuff?”

Giving away free samples and freebies is a business tactic that actually attracts more and more customers, contributing to the bottom line of the business that’s giving them away. But really now, who does not want freebies? Everyone loves free stuff, and businesses know that giving you a taste of their goods will make you go for their product.

Occasionally, freebie campaigns last awhile, but the entire duration really depends on the number of free samples they’re giving away. I you want to use free these free websites, you need to sign up with them. Don’t worry about your privacy, your details won’t ever be passed onto another company or any other person.

Because your email might be flooded with many, many offers, consider creating another email account for freebies and other offers. This can keep your main inbox clear, and you also will be able to instantly see the companies that are giving away freebies and making new offers.
Keep a watch on the Terms and Conditions and consider checking and unchecking some options.

Most of the websites that offer freebies haven’t been around long. Most of them were established in May 2010. But these websites have been good enough to gather all the freebies available on the Internet. While most of the freebies are for consumer goods, you can actually get free travel, free accommodations, and other free things. Here’s how you can get them.

Defeat the tax increase by travelling by automobile, and prevent extortionate train fares. Road trips are enjoyable but you can travel the road for free by signing up with websites like and FreeWheelerscom. Some people to will ask you to chip in for petrol but will offer you a spare seat in the vehicle.

Budget not enough for a vacation? Get home accommodations free of charge by swapping your house with another family. Love House Swap and Homelink International provide you with the possibility to search through properties and swap your house for another – wherever you may be on the planet.
